Crackdown 3, State of Decay 2, Sea of Thieves = Games you mess around with every now and then with buddies and not much else
Scalebound though was going to be about combat, action, and have large scale boss battles. The story was probably going to be weak but I'm sure it would have been more of a focus than the other Xbox games I mentioned. It was just going to be more of the full experience that gamers expect when they play a game.
Silent Hills sounded awesome, but it was cancelled before it really became anything. Scalebound looked like it was nearing completion, it was shown off at either E3 and Gamescom each year since it was announced with new updates and features. Then just like that, MS says they have ceased development on the game.
It's a far bigger blow, many of us expected the game to be out in the next few months and went into 2017 hyped up for it
I am not spending hundreds of dollars to get prettier versions of Halo, Gears, and Forza. They better announce some big new IPs stat or I won't give a damn about the Xbox brand anymore and I'll definitely skip the Scorpio.
This isn't some small scale developer like Hello Games, this is Platinum we are talking about. They have proven they make great action games and Scalebound getting canceled is crushing. Do you think THEY wanted some wonky 4 player online co-op? I bet that was one of many MS's decisions for the game that made Platinum fall behind schedule, as the sources say, and the issues are result of both MS Studios and Platinum not working close enough.
No, please don't spin it like that. Platinum makes a lot of great action games, I am pinning this on MS for not working closely with Platinum to allow them to create the game they both wanted.
What the hell? This is crushing news. It was my most anticipated first party Xbox game this year. With Lionhead getting shutdown and now Scalebound getting cancelled, MS needs to get their f***ing act together
With the momentum the Xbox One saw July-October because of the Xbox One S, I expected them to say this was their biggest holiday sales period. No mention of that at all, just some statistics of how many matches were played in Gears 4 and how much all the Xbox One Forzas have sold together.
They must not have had the success during the holiday season they were hoping for
I still think Dreams is coming this year, they originally had a beta planned for 2016. If all goes well with the development it should be ready by the end of this year
"Earth is Ours No More" is a fantastic marketing slogan, definitely leaves an impression. The closer we get to Horizon the more my excitement grows, I can't wait to explore the world within the game!
People say that consoles are dead in Japan yet the PS4 went from 2 million to 4 million sales there in a years worth of time. It should be at 6-7 million by the end of next year, which is huge considering the absolute hold that mobile gaming has over the region.
As a Gears fan, I'm really disappointed that Gears 4 isn't doing better. I thought the campaign was solid but I couldn't get into Horde mode this time around
The mic was a ball the whole time, plot twist!
Seriously though, Phil Spencer dropped the ball with killing the Fable studio (Lionhead) and then killing Scalebound.

So without Scaleb...

If this includes a pack in game like Splatoon then this will sell like wildfire at that price

It's actually closer to $200, maybe the US price could be an odd one like $229
Yeah, I would have played it. Probably was a lot of fun

No sales numbers and no mention of having a record holiday sales period.... but look at how happy MS sounds, so they must be doing great! (....<_<)
California is only winning because Ahnold is playing
Is there ever a moment where the Xbox One isn't being sold at a sale price? I honestly don't know how the Xbox division does it

A console game selling more outside of Japan, where the console scene is significantly smaller... who would have thunk it? lol
