There's no reason they can't co-exist.
Maybe gamers shouldn't be paying full price, ever. Maybe that's how we get more original IPs over endless sequels to the same worlds/stories.
I agree but I would have switched out FF7 for FF6 personally.
The first Grandia is the best, imo. Although it would be hard to go back to as the game looked dated even when it first released.
