It was a very good games showcase, but a meh PS showcase.
@kaii Gaming is a lot like politics with Liberals and Conservatives. Both sides want different things. Liberals want abortion rights, gun control, high taxes on the rich, gay rights, etc. Conservatives want less regulation, 2nd amendment rights, lower taxes, pro life, etc. It’s the same thing in gaming. Nintendo fans like kiddie cartoon platform games, Xbox fans like shooters, racers, and RPGs. PS fans like single player story driven games. They do not like GAAS multiplayer games, like the PC...
@MIDGETonSTILTS17 Every Bungie game will be a multiplat. Also Sony (which is really Bungie’s decision) is putting Marathon on Xbox not because they didn’t want to take it away, it was because in order to profit from a GAAS shooter you need it everywhere. Also MS is going to take away ES and Fallout and those franchises were on PS before.
They’re saying Summer 2024.
Yeah this is Xbox level cope. Lol
I don’t trust these Chinese devs. Most of their games are too good to be true and just ending up disappearing. Remember this is a mobile dev making this.
@potatoseal Be careful. A lot of these games from China can be deceiving. Most either take years to release or they never release, and if they do release it’s nothing like what they originally showed.
Street Fighter 6 is a multiplat.
Little brother always talks about big brother, not the other way around. Lol You never see PS tweet things like this to MS.
MS’s showcase was basically the same last year. The only big 1st party games that they showed were Redfall (Which was terrible), Forza, and Starfield and both games are still not out. Outside of those games their conference was filled with 3rd parties and indies too. But those games were coming to Gamepass so people didn’t criticize them much.
@Tedakin You really don’t get it do you? When you’re the market leader you earn leeway and the benefit of the doubt. If the KC Chiefs have a 3 game losing streak in the middle of the season, people don’t panic. Why? Because they’re champions and they have proven themselves, unlike a team let’s say the Browns. MS is in 3rd place and there brand is becoming irrelevant by the day. They absolutely need to have great showcases.
MS never promised, but there wording was vague. Sony said it straight up.
@Hofstaderman I’m sure Avowed and Hellblade will definitely be there.
@Flawlessmic I think the worst thing about that showcase was when they showed the Grand Turismo movie trailer. Lol A movie trailer has no place at a gaming showcase.
Not the biggest multiplayer fan. But those games are here to stay.
@SeTTrip It’s clear that Insomniac is inspired by Naughty Dog, heck most PS studios are. Lol
Yeah, This is Sony experimenting with this streaming device. There are companies that take a risk and try to release some new consumer device and see how the public likes it. I agree it’s dead on arrival.
@Flawlessmic I also gave Sony a pass for not having a showcase last year. Better to not show anything than to waste our time. They could of honestly just called this a State of Play to quell expectations.
@darkrider If Sony would have bought the Metal Gear IP who would make it? Kojima doesn’t want to do Metal Gear again and I don’t want to see a new Metal Gear without him. When MS bought the Gears IP they had The Coalition and Rod Fergusson, who had experience with Gears at Epic.
@Neonridr Outside of Firesprite and Team Asobi, I wouldn’t expect PS 1st party studios to make VR games. I think PS’s 1st party studios don’t want to bother with VR because they believe VR games don’t sell as much as AAA games (they’re right). Which makes you think, why is Sony investing in VR, when most of their 1st party studios aren’t going to make games for it? You can’t expect 3rd party VR games to carry you, you need killer apps of your own. If Sony is going to go all in on VR they are ...
