In the final game you can choose not to have any party members.
Edonus: Play Vagrant Story or Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, Tactics Ogre LUCT, ect if you want more adult stories. However, if your idea of "big boys stories" is a space soap opera that plays out like a mini series on the sci fi network, then stick to ME and it's tired tropes.
The only thing the Elder Scrolls "destroyed" was the idea that a game could actually be sold, day 1, without crippling bugs, lumbering frame rates, features like magically erasing saves and an overall lack of polish.
Personally, I think Bethesda games are bland, boring, tripe. I'll take Xenoblade or the Souls games anyday.
Btw, if you want to get down to sales: Pokemon > any wrpg. Sure it's not HD, go cry me a river.
The only thing scary about GoW is that it takes so little skill to play. You could button smash using your feet and still win.
A Shinji Mikami directed, 3rd person, survial horror style Metroid would be incredible.

More or less agree with you Turtle. The game has more in common with Monster Hunter than Skyrim. The only thing exclusively western about DD's approach is it's aesthetics.

Looks like a Souls game. I'll probably pick it up if the gameplay is up to snuff, but so far it looks great.
Try RE2 with the Claire or Leon scenario back in 1998. The concept isn't even new to the series.
