Because if they said no beta, people would have flipped. So they were forced to put the alpha software out there, bugs and all because they were pretty much forced to. IMO, Rent it and then decide.
I'll truth a good development studios word. Last bad or even buggy Battlefield game? Exactly.
And it's an Alpha actually, since the beta was the most recent when posted they couldn't post the beta and get it ready for the actual "Beta" [Demo] but still, considering DICE has never ever released a glitchy crappy game on day 1 ever, I'd believe their word. I can't believe some people can't understand that even the beta is being worked on right now and should be done about this week.
I believe it was all around nerfed for the consoles to get the download size less. I believe they said even sound was only 1/3 the quality for the console download version. I'd wager they will look substantially better on the disk with the full content when released. And without the 98% of the bugs, obviously. Especially the rendering ones that suck really badly.

BF was the first series to have hit markers. They're BF style hit markers, get over it.
I like how it says Battlefield fans are giving mixed opinions. No, it's really the ones who have never owned a BF original game and aren't liking it because it's glitched and actually the alpha version and they can't comprehend that. [Except for PC, but nobody on PC doesn't have a BF game so they don't count.]
And then 720 and PS4 come out...Then only one more 10 years down the road maybe, because eventually we will reach the point where our eyes can't tell, and it should be there about then.
You haven't played the demo I guess, it's NOWHERE close.

IMO, it's a losing battle from now on, they have competition. Activision can't buy out EA, and they can't beat them. It's over.

It's a beta, and glitches are your #1 complaint? Just shut up for now, if they're in the final product, sure, flip sh**. So far it's just rendering problems and one actual glitch with the kill camera so deal with it. It's a Beta, you don't have to even play the damn thing.
