Between this and Tomb Raider...I don't know what PS4 fans talk about more.
Sony could emulate the PS3 if they wanted to. Sure it would present some interesting challenges but the SPUs Of the Cell could be emulated as individual threads on a multicore processor. The PS3 GPU was very weak.it can be done but it won't be because Sony wants to push PS Now.
Supposedly he and Phil are in discussions to do more work on Xbox.
What Sony did is unprecedented. I have never seen a gaming platform holder showcase a game that requires a kickstarter to be made. It was a PR stunt that worked. Bravo to them but it was very shady. They obviously felt like the lineup they had for E3 didn't have the punch they probably wanted by itself.
Brand Presence is better than none at all. All it takes is for one generation of Xbox to really hit with the consumer. It wasn't that long ago Japanese cars were barely a thing in the USA.
Too much time and resources dedicated to trying to win a fictional console race. Phil, just allow Xbox gamers to play games on the 12+ million Xbox Ones and/or the 100s of millions of potential windows 10 PCs. It's really that simple. It's about the games. The box it's played on doesn't matter.

If it's going to be a console for mostly Nintendo games
1) $199 entry price.
2) Built in wifi and ethernet
3) Overhauled online network
4) Minimum 1080p resolution for all games
5) Game streaming to any tablet or phone
6) BC with Wii U, better Virtual Console.
It absolutely does not need to compete with Xbox or PS4. It just needs to give the best Nintendo experience possible for a reasonable price/performance.

Microsoft won because it is laid the roadmap and revealed some of the groundwork to catapult its Xbox platform as a service that can benefit console gamers, PC gamers, and owners of both. Crowd funding is great for startups with little capital, not mature businesses. I hate the precedent stuff like this is setting.
