Who is claiming the less need? Sony fan boys? You have no credibility. Microsoft is going to continue selling Xboxes. Why the hell else would they announce a Slim and then a Scorpio that's prepared to launch a year and a half from now, if they were going ALL in on Windows 10 PC?
Do you realize Microsoft is not just a software company since Sayta took over as a CEO? They are a devices, services, and Cloud company. Did Microsoft stop making Surfaces, Band, or Lumia phones...
Windows 10 is free. Since when is buy once play anywhere a bad deal for gamers. Microsoft wins by getting more users to committee to Windows 10 and it's supported devices. Gamers win by having more places to play Xbox games. Whether they chose to do all this because they were losing to Sony or because it was part of their long term strategy is frankly irrelevant. The fact is they are leading the charge and doing it now.
You sound like a bitter hater but thanks for buyi...
Not at those prices. Curious why they never sold the damn thing for $199 without the gamepad.
Microsoft platform Exclusive.
Oh so love popping heads with that glorious piece of weaponry.
They are not enabling all these Smart TV functions on competing TV sets.
You're seriously overvaluing a Smart TV. Joe Blow can easily get a cheaper 1080p set and plug in an Amazon fire stick, Roku, RaspPi Wintel stick, or Chromecast and have nearly all the same functionality of an expensive Sony Smart TV .
Wishful thinking at best being that Microsoft is a cloud, hardware and services businesses...doesn't make sense to withdraw from making their devices.
Now what I could see them doing is partnering with OEM PC makers and having Xbox certified PC builds.
I want a PS/PS2 emulator
They can't do anything. As long the developer doesn't distribute Roms there is no issue.
You're real helpful to the discussion.
Build a PC for $279 that will play Halo 6.
Can you build a PC for $279 that will play Halo 6? You're saying don't buy an Xbox One because the games are going to run and look miles better on PC, but these has been known since the start of the generation that PC will look better than either PS4 or Xbox One. People on a budget will still buy Xbox consoles.
I expect to hear this ridiculous statement recycled over and over again by pro- Sony/anti Microsoft gamers because they cannot function properly without know...
People are buying PS4s for multiplats. Sony exclusives out side of Uncharted 4 rarely put up huge numbers.
Neo is more of a betrayal if anything. It's a device launching 3 years after a console that's already sold 40 million units. Sony refuses to talk specs regarding the unit. So all we have is rumors, which while likely very accurate they are still rumors.
Microsoft has been very transparent about their strategy. They have the low end, middle tier, high range and ultra high range covered with Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox Scorpio and PC. They even gave gamers a heads up t...

PS fans: Just build a PC. Xbox has no exclusives.
Andrew House: We are trying to keep users from going to high end PCs.
Now why exactly would House make such a statement if he didn't feel somewhat threatened? Short term, Sony will still gain a significant number of new hardware systems. But long term they are still limited in their potential user base because PS only operates on one hardware platform. Additionally, despite having unique exclusives use...
Why are PS fans so desperate to push people to PC? They talk about Xbox Anywhere as if it will diminish having an Xbox console. For console gamers they will still buy the standalone Xbox. For the PC gamer they might decide to buy a cheap Xbox One and put it in the bedroom or wherever to complement their Windows 10 gaming rig. Also not everyone cares about PS exclusives.
That's exactly what Andrew House doesn't want you to do. He said he wants to keep gamers on PS only.
Build a PC that has equivalent performance to the Xbox One or better for $279 or less that includes multiple games and a controller. Go right ahead. Then when you find you can't do it maybe you'll understand the concept of price tiers and performance/cost ratio.
