We have the cell to blame for some of those ridiculous dev cycles.
With the newer unified architectures for development that the PS4 has incorporated and the well established PC landscape, results are theoretically quicker to achieve. The Scorpio seems to be adopting the same approach as the PS4 which means that developers will be beating to the same drum for the most part and development will unify to an extent.

I like a 4-5 year console cycle.
Any longer and things stat to stagnate.
I think the the scorpio release is a good timeline. It should be seen as a new generation and for the first year of release all games should be released on both. But on the 5th year anniversary of the X1 I think that is a good time to then focus on Scorpio exclusives and allow devs to choose which box they build for.

Remember, its about offering people choice. Play the same games of this gen in HD (x1) or 4K (scorpio) and also benefit from premium VR.

I didn't reply to anyone, I made my own statement about the industry brainiacs.
Also, the diff in power between x1 & ps4 is roughly 40% but the actual power difference is about as equivalent as a mobile phone and is no where as much as Scorpio and the pro. Try more like the whole extra power of another ps4 on top. Roughly 1.8Tflops extra power.

I was talking more about everything that is available this holiday, not just VR. But I get by the way I wote my post why you would think that.
I guess I included the tv because, 4k HDR panels are only just becoming affordable and I don't know many who already have made the jump. Also if us console gamers want to see the best possible picture that our boxes can produce then we need a 4k tv, even for the Xbox One S!
