It's true, something is always better than nothing. It is a good move to bring mod support to console, opens the game up and provides refreshing replayability.
It's not for everyone and people are always gonna hate in some form, but at least we have something that may lead to further implementation.
If mod support on console is important to you then obviously the Xbox is a good choice, but I would still recommend PC as the best place.

This low price point will really drive VR into the mainstream and inside out appears to be the next iteration of VR allowing for a truly unbound flexible experience.
For Xbox Scorpio this could prove to be a welcome development.

As you suggest, I do hope they have a form of digital distribution for some of the older titles, portable smash bros on the switch would be pretty sweet.
Also they HAVE to support external HDD's of they don't want a tsunami of complaints.

I am curious how they will achieve BC, if at all. It's one of the things Nitty has been know for, excellent backwards compatibility.

I am whole heartedly excited for the Switch just from the knowledge that Mario & Zelda are joining the party. I really like the design of the console, mini split screen with two detachable controllers and the seamless swapping of big to small screen.
So far from what I have seen there is no reason not to be excited, especially if one is a Nintendo fan to begin with. Sure there are the usual questions about 3d party support, specifications, online servi...
I for one am very excited for the Switch.
Just the fact that I have been sold on a basic experience video, only showing the interaction, function and accessibility. And seeing Zelda, Mario 3D and MarioKart running on it has made my inner child smack me across the head and tell me to 'shuddup and buy it'. So I will.
Nintendo have done a great job in showing the device and its games before even mentioning CPU GPU RAM etc...

I look forward to a few months after release, once the dust has settled, to get a clear understanding of what this Pro can actually achieve. I just feel short changed, I don't know why.

VR seems to be penetrating the mainstream, adoption rates are as high as can be, many developers will take note and align their roadmaps to include a from of VR for their future projects. This is all very exciting.
Have any lessons been learned? Or is this just a case of sweep it under the rug and continue with business as usual?
