DF's video the day after https://www.youtube.com/wat...
This is the video that convinced me it was worth the upgrade. "This is a $400 box at the end of the day and to deliver that kind of experience is far more than I expected."
I do agree with this though.
We knew this, click bait. Moore's Law. Doubled power = substantial enough. And it's fine for $400. Oh juicy juicy drama!
Thank you for the click bait warning! Until we have MEASURED comparisons, like those from DF, then any shopping advice is that of a pseudo-intellectual posturing technical terminology to sound like an expert. But gotta get in that buzzing drama while it's hot right???
"Now" and "going" have different meanings. I was going to jump on my PS4. Oh you journos you. Ya got me.
By skewing the marketing term "4K". Cell phone marketers did it like crazy with 3G and 4G. Happens all the time still and is why I despise marketers and PR execs because they prey on the uninformed.
I'm buying this and love Sony products and exclusives, but lets not kid ourselves.
Click bait since not 1:1 direct feed comparison. Getting tired of adding to my unethical gaming site list. As one user post stated in the article, waiting for digital foundry's analysis.
I'm sure youtube hardware junkies like Linus, Jay, and others will release a ton of build videos. OR one can research easily themselves.
They had already pulled the trigger on manufacturing and could not stop that train. It is a direct competitor to the X1S for this next year, not the Scorpio which is still over a year away (a lot can change for or against the Scorpio). I am only responding to the title, not clicking on Gamingbolt (a site on my shit list).
This is how I feel about ALL console games. I want 60fps even if the graphics do not look as good, but bullshots sell games even if the it runs at 20fps. Sudden frame drops hinder my enjoyment due to motion sickness because my eyes tend to fixate on in-game assets (unlike movies where my eyes glaze over the entire screen). 30fps is fine as long as it is solid, but I very much prefer the responsiveness of 60fps. I loved the option in the remaster already and was hoping the rest of the PS4 ...
Play them live in person before making a judgement. Back in the day, we used to hit up Best Buy, Fry's, Toys R Us, Sears, etc. and experienced systems hands on. People waited in lines to play SNES. I wish all games could be demonstrated with the same care from back then. The internet has been detrimental to properly conveying this beautiful technical art form and hobby we love so much. I'm drunk.
"Admits" The carefully crafted garbage journalists do to stir drama between gamers and rack up click/traffic revenue.
I was watching the chats and a few vocal, uninformed kids were copying/pasting some variation of "No UHD! lol! rip sony!" then it caught on like wild fire, even after Sony explained the reasoning from their market research. After I am sure they all took to the forums with their "luls" and feelings of approval from peers. Now unethical gaming sites (like Polygon) are pouring fuel on this for revenue, "How do we make money from this drama and create MORE drama? Platf...
Xbox keeps trying to be a low end PC because they want to nickel and dime everyone with a closed marketplace, create a publisher catering ad littered platform, and charge a monthly rental fee (being tested on W10 pro for my clients). Remember they started Xbox Live, an ability free for PC which they hate. It all trickles down if there is no resistance. That is their mistake. Sadly Sony had to follow to keep up with dirty MS crap.
I like some MS games, but hate MS and th...
Play all, if you have the means. I own a PC and all the consoles. PS exclusives are killer and we can play Xbox games on PC with top settings.
Thank you. Scorpio isn't even around yet, so it doesn't matter. When it's real, then we'll see. MS is still using PR speak like "we hope" "targeting" "vision" when referring to included hardware - nothing solid. The comparisons have been baffling and fueled by drama click gaming sites to stir up console wars and fanboys again for traffic revenue.
@Genuine-User
Looks nice but DF talked about this. Framerates are not something that screenshots can convey. I own high end PC and have a PS4P ordered.
Sponsored youtubers, streamers, and gaming sites like IGN, Gamespot, Polygon, Kotaku, etc. and other small sites trying to pull in traffic for revenue run their opinion articles so they can fabricate platform war drama and generate clicks. That's who we should really be calling out.
John Oliver has a nice 20 min video on how truth in journalism is dead because of online ads/clickbait. Drama brings in money and we fall for it.
I am doing all the consoles as well and have a killer PC already, so I'm with you man!
No, click bait. I am primarily a PC gamer, but I am also getting a PS4P because I cant get enough of Sony exclusives. I always buy the consoles. This gen I decided to go Sony and Nintendo to supplement my PC. I also have a Wii-U and New3DS because I love Nintendo exclusives.
You journalists need to stop with trying to trigger separation between us gamers to fabricate platform war drama for clicks. It's unethical. Some of us just like to relax and play ALL games, s...
