Naughty Dog actually is first party; Sony owns them. Media Molecule is not 1st party, at least not yet. Not sure if Sony will buy them or not.

Hmm. Quite cool. This, to me, adds to the validity of the rumored price drop. Drop the price of the console itself $100, and then put out another SKU with a couple of games at the original price. Makes sense to me.

What fantasy world are you living in? The price is the only reason why the PS3 hasn't caught up yet. Last year, if you think back, you'll realize that the PS3 was kicking the 360's ass in sales, every month, in every region, until MS dropped the price late in the year.
This is, if I recall correctly, the same way we found out about the last price drop. Good news for people still not playing beyond.

Yeah, that's kinda the point where I stopped reading too. Claiming the Genesis was more powerful than the SNES is some kinda bad joke, and any gamer that was around at the time when both consoles were out would know this.
