So players are demanding a price cut, and now a major publisher is demanding a price cut. This is going to be an interesting year indeed.
...but still 100% fake
I saw a forum post once showing an elephant giving birth to a baboon...maybe I should report THAT as news too?
".. matter of fact half life 2 has better free mods... with more quality and more art..."
What are those? Not arguing, just curious. I have Zombie Panic but it's gameplay is a little kludgy for my tastes.
Twenty bucks says Valve has a Steam sale or discount for L4D owners within a month after release.
"The fact is, with proper SW architecture, you get 7 fully parallel CPUs in the CELL (not counting the one spare, and the one used SPU). Not much like it is available, today, not even in a Quad PC."
I understand the theory, but you're describing a Utopian computing environment that doesn't really exist. It's analogous to saying that the new Porsche you bought will hit it's max speed of 200mph in any given situation, regardless of the road, wind, etc. There are MANY situ...
Because there's SO much floating point math going on in your typical game engine, right?
It's online is better because MS actually had foresight to dump a buttload of money into building out their network in 2004....which is also why it is a pay service.
That's misleading; SPE's are not equal in power to the PPE, not by a long shot.
@SaberEdge
All that's true, but on this site that kind of info is falling on deaf ears. Unfortunately the proof is in the games and until someone really creates a game on the 360 that outdoes Killzone or Uncharted, it's not likely to fly here.
Playing Home is a little like standing in one of the cities in your average MMO. Lots of people chatting and dancing, but I still feel the urge to go out and do something...
They forgot to mention that apparently you have to have a MobileMe account before you can use the Find My Phone feature.
That sucks.
What's foolish is getting hung up on "exclusives"
It's hard to deny that Microsoft put on a good show. If you feel the need to declare one of the vendors as a "winner" or put down someone elses opinion on the matter, then perhaps your bias is showing a little.
Red Steel 1 was a great idea, but seemed to be rushed so the execution was flawed. I'm curious to see what happens with this one now that Ubi has had time to improve upon the formula.
Intriguing story. I remember a couple of years ago movie theaters were talking about blocking cell phone reception inside the theaters to cut back on unnecessary noise, I wonder why prisons don't do the same?
Source makes decent upgrades to their engine with every game they release. While some criticize the graphics for not being as good as other games, it's actually intentional.
Like the Call of Duty engine, Source is based on an older engine tuned for high frame rates even on older hardware. It's not as effects heavy as something like the Crysis engine, but gets better performance on fast-moving games.
Episode 3 is going to be the sh!t. Knowing how Valve works they'll not release something until it is done right.
It makes sense. Every console maker generally updates their graphics and programming libraries with assets built by the developers, I expect ND have made a lot of cool innovations and are giving some of the knowledge back to Sony, especially with the Cell being so tricky to develop for.
How many more companies have to go bankrupt before this guy realizes that Mortal Kombat is over!
It was great in its day, but c'mon...think of something new instead of milking an old IP to death.
