You meant it's all about power with kids these days, not industry. My bad.
Well, I have nothing to say about that, it's true and sad in a way. My friends (who are not even kids) are mostly the type that begun playing games with PS1 or PS2 and when I showed them some old Amiga games, none were impressed! Haha, I was all excited about my emulator and all they said was: "that's cool, come now, let's play God of War!&q...
I remember being amazed by Comodore64's graphics and sound capabilities compared to Spectrum's. The same can be said about Amiga500 compared to C64 and Amiga 1200 compared to Amiga500.
It was about power then as much as it is now. And I don't mean that it was ALL about power then, nor do I mean that it is so nowadays.
It's just that VIDEO evolves at a steady pace and GAMES evolves erratically.
It's not that old games are better. It's that we were younger and more prone to total immersion.
Now, being an "old" gamer myself (28), I have experienced the same symptoms as this guy. BUT! I have found a cure! I can't tell you what it is, since it's illegal in most countries :D
But, I can say it's green, grows in nature, has leaves, starts with an "M" and ends with an "A". hehe :)
I'm getting sick of those speciall effects, glows and fireworks in video games. i mean, it's ok for Super Stardust, but for Conan....where did the rustic style go? Who did ever read a Conan comic with fireworks bursting out of his sword?
Is anyone capable of making a truly rustic video game these days? Oh, I forgot, Fumito Ueda comes to mind. SOTC was a truly rustic game. I bet he would be able to make a fighting game with all the gore and without fireworks bursting whenever you hi...
I am the almighty sony zealot! Why did you call me, enemy?
I'll do a little spin here:
The game is on par with the X360 version and it hasn't even been a year that PS3 is out! And it's been almost 2 years that X360 is. Wow!
Couple that with the facts that the PS3 is hard to develop for and that Sony doesn't give enough of their support to developers. Wow, wow, wow, I mean, lyk, wow!
