PS3 or PC? And if PC has the better version, will the PS3 owners that claim to have a beefed up PC buy it for PC as they do with most 360 non-exclusives?
Games actually got better on PS1 with *additional storage* instead of taking a step back to a console with less storage in comparison to last-gen (but higher demands in terms of quality) as is the case with Xbox 360. Also, developers left Nintendo in favor of Sony because of the storage medium, not because Sony was buying devs left and right as Microsoft is doing, at least not as much. Had Nintendo used CD, Sony wouldn't be a name as far as the game industry goes, and perhaps Sony wouldn't ex...
I just summed up this whole thread
All fanboys are equally bad, you have to be a fanboy to think otherwise
Devs making exclusive JRPGs for 360 can't really invest much in them as they won't sell, so they're unlikely to be good products. Had these devs made the games for PS3, the PS3 would be selling A LOT MORE in japan and they would subsequently sell more games and be allowed to put in more polish.
The rise of Microsoft in the videogame console industry spells the decline of classic japanese-style quality games.
These scores are laughable
I don't know why people are saying this game looks better on PS3. It may be running at a higher resolution, which is a great achievement. The purple haze looks good, a matter of taste really. Both have blood, the 360 has a bit more blood. The problem with the PS3 version is lighting which is slightly worse, and anti-aliasing, as usual.
OK first of all you can't talk about comparisons to HD consoles when this game hasn't been developed for PS3, 360, PC or Mac.
Second, can you tell me how anyone manages to fool himself into thinking this game wouldn't look better in more capable hardware? Hell, wouldn't it have the capacity to be more interactive, as in better AI, more advanced physics, more interactive bodies, more NPCs on screen, more simulations of gameplay elements to add depth and variety to gameplay, and ru...
So why not slam Edge instead? Not like I disagree with Edge but if the Nintendo fanboys feel like slamming someone, then Edge should be their target. Gamepro is impartial.
"It's called alpha blending, and the PS3 isnt as good at it as the 360, it's as simple as that, "
What does BLOOD SPRAYS have to do with alpha blending? It's not like you have to blend it several colors, blood is red and everything it touches turns into red. That has probably nothing to do with alpha blending, it's probably something else. But again, it's highly doubtful that the PS3 can't handle the blood whereas the 360 can, just look at how bad the 360 version runs...
"But how will submillimeter tracking improve my gaming experience?"
How will graphics help games? They are already "too realistic". Why would we need Blu-ray? Hell, cartridges were fine. Etc, etc...
Anyhow, if you really want an answer to that question, you WILL get it when the games come out. The developers will gladly answer that dumb question, and you'll realize why so much precision is needed for several games. Oh, and it doesn't sacrifice...
Sony makes a "PS3 Go" with a HUGE hard drive and no Blu-ray drive. But I doubt that will happen. PS3 games are too f***ing big. 25-50GB downloads? No friggin' way. But if Sony and publishers are willing to take that risk, then I could see the choice for some gamers to go completely digital. It wouldn't replace the disc playing PS3s, it would simply be another option, like the PSP Go.
A few months ago it was crazy to think about a PS3 without a Blu-ray drive. But now ...
Regardless, they fail to acknowledge the fact that DVD9 limits games in comparison to Blu-ray. It's not that Blu-ray helps render advanced shaders (making the position look ridiculous and proving the ridiculous position they made up instead of the actual position), it's not JUST that blu-ray helps the machine display higher quality assets; it's the fact that some games are impossible to slash into multiple discs! Not all games are linear.

For this thread. Bubbles
Last-gen ports, children games and mini-games is suddenly variety? Oh, so now that it has a shooter that is barely above average, you can say it has variety? Wait, I forgot rail-shooters... you can keep those.
Anyway, really, why risk being humiliated? Because you know, the genres that PS3 and 360 have covered (and Wii does not) are:
-Western RPGs: Fallout, Oblivion, Bioshock, Borderlands
-First Person Shooters: Killzone 2, Call of Duty 4, Halo 3, Resistan...
And because it looks like an average horror game.
Then again, it reminds me of Luigi's mansion lol
Buy Wardell out. Who's next?
I thought it always was about the games, not the sales units, revenue or profit for that matter.
