The differences are virtually negligible for the majority of the gaming populace. One of my casual gaming friends bought a PS3 and even played the Orange Box from start to finish with no noticeable issues, so why would anyone care? I know this is anecdotal evidence, but why should it be different for anyone?
Anyway, if you are THAT concerned about multiplatform games, then why would you get a 360 when you can get a PC? And if you're on a Budget, then again, why would you get a 36...

The 360 looks cheap, but aesthetics aside, for 299 you get the same storage on both, and yet you get free WiFi on PS3 and free online Play, not to mention a free blu-ray player. None of that comes with the 299 360.
As for game libraries, you can play most 360 console exclusives on your PC, while you can't do the same for most PS3 console exclusives. Even if your PC was obsolete or you had a Mac or nothing at all, most 360 "exclusives" are timed anyway, and PS3 will end ...

The majority of JRPGs on 360 have floppedd, and also many games made by rare, but who cares? I don't buy games based on how they sell, but you gotta take in mind that the 360 base is very FPS/WRPG oriented while the PS3 base is more varied, not to mention some are only into blu-ray.
Also, scores are subjective. Halo may have scored 94, Killzone 2 a 92 and RFOM 87 but I liked RFOM the most. I also liked prey, the darkness, timeshift and even Jericho more than halo and killzone, so...
