Alright, Uncharted is like Tomb Raider, except Tomb Raider is now a dead franchise as far as quality goes, and Uncharted has taken the lead in that genre. It's not like it is a crowded genre unlike the Alien FPS genre anyway.
However, what other hack and slash is like God of War or Heavenly Sword? As far as storyline goes, in the context of videogames? Of course God of War is inspired in Greek Mythology and Heavenly Sword in Asian Legends (I guess), but as I said before, there...
Story may not be the most important factor as far as game of the year awards, but it is still something worth considering, especially if you're making a game of an overcrowded genre like FPS. So a storyline about Aliens and a First Person Shooter? What's so new about that?
Perhaps FPS of 2009 for Wii and that's it, but that's because there aren't many FPS on Wii and it's not like Winning best FPS of Wii is a compliment anyway.
I don't remember Halo 3 winning GOT...
"Well I'm not going to fight with losers every day we'll see. "
It's funny that you complain when every single day you do that when you look in the mirror, no need to point fingers.
A complete opposite of the Hip Hop gamer, something in the lines of "Suburban Rich WASP gamer show", let's see how much these ghetto lovers cry.
While we're at it, somebody needs to actually *compete* with N4G. If N4G keeps growing the way it is with no user generated content competition at all, then N4G will keep being a safe harbor for this kind of tabloid trash.
"Well, not bad line up, but not stellar either. GOW and GT are about the only decent titles. MAG looks ok, but doesn't give me the must have feeling either."
GOW and GT are just Decent? lol. Oh, and MAG doesn't give YOU the must have feeling? THANK GOD YOU LET US KNOW, WE WERE ANXIOUS! Thankfully you're the only one in that group.
Hey, let us know if Halo ODST gives you the must have feeling.
Then again, please don't.
Newsflash for him: PS360 games already look like PS4/Xbox 720 games
It was recently announced, or at least reported as rumor
What a bold claim. Too bold considering it's on Wii so you can't do very much there, and being another Alien related FPS doesn't help much either in a very crowded genre, especially when you start comparing it to significantly superior products.
Once they see how little it sells on the Wii they'll realize that upgrading the IP for current-gen consoles will be the ideal move for this game, that is if they somehow manage to differentiate themselves from Area 51, Timeshift, the Da...
"What story isn't? "
Well it's easy to defend the Wii if you put it this way, but in the context of videogames there are many storylines that aren't Alien invasions, Celtic/Nordic Mythology or WW2 related. Heavenly Sword, Alan Wake, Uncharted, God of War, Lost Planet, Infamous are pretty original in the context of videogames IMHO.
Of course you'll find similarities in movies and/or books and/or comics, but the first art mediums were based folklore, whic...
"There's a good reason Forza 2 has a 91 score on Metacritic (higher than GT5P, and Forza 1 rates higher than GT4 - the last full GT release). "
The day gaming will die will be the day that games will be judged by and compared with a unidimensional quantitative score metric instead of its unique sets of multidimensional qualitative features.
Translation: Judging a game by its "metascore", or worse, saying a game is better than another one becau...
If Microsoft had a killer line-up and Sony had nothing else. However, Sony has a killer line-up already even without God of War and Gran Turismo. FFXIII should suffice in Japan, and MAG should be big in the west. There's also Heavy Rain, EyePet, Uncharted 2, Ratchet and Clank Future 2, soon Infamous and we just got Killzone 2, hopefully we'll get Afrika as well. As for 3rd parties, we have Sigma 2, Quantum Theory, Katamari Damacy if I'm not forgetting something else. There will also be a port...
"LMAO!
Attack Microsoft - Nintendo rocks.
Attack Sony - Nintendo sucks.
The more things change, the more they stay the same. "
It's funny because it goes both ways. Funnier because you don't even realize! LMAO!
I have no problem if the game has no graphical upgrades, but if there are no significant gameplay upgrades then what's the point? I love new storylines but any new game should have new gameplay additions.
So waggle suddenly made you forget everything else? It doesn't matter if for some Waggle made your personal experience better, every game should be at least on par (if not "better" due to the supposed "awesomeness" of the wiimote) with other console games, but we know that's never gonna happen unless Nintendo decides to release a console that thinks about gamers needs and not just their wallet. But again, that'll never happen.
Only hardcore fanboys say that Nintendo is doomed. You know, I wish Nintendo was actually "doomed" so they could rethink their strategy, but that's just because I'm not pleased, not because I don't want them to make a profit. Since they're making profit without pleasing my gaming needs, that's not gonna happen.
If the game has less characters, worse A.I., graphics, and physics then what the hell is that?
Nobody buys a Wii to see good graphics. We've probably seen "the whole Iceberg" for Wii with the worst of next-gen consoles.
I've never seen v1c1ous say anything productive, all he spouts is fanboy crap that belongs in the open Zone, let's take his bubbles away.
The Gamer Zone is for members who want a more friendly and civilized discussion. This section is heavily moderated by the N4G staff, so leave your fanboyism at the door please. Members who are unable to behave in a mature and respectful manner will be temporarily or permanently restricted from posting in the Gamer Zone. Using words such as Xbo...
Nobody has ever said Nintendo is doomed. People say Nintendo *sucks*, not that they're dead. Besides, making a lot of profit isn't synonymous with "not sucking".
The graphics may be good (by Wii standards), but it's another FPS with aliens on it. It's gonna be pretty hard to innovate and/or differentiate itself from other games in the same genre, considering how many similar games already exist and/or are, or may be, in development.
Edit:
@sidar, evidently they're not trying with the story, and they're not trying with the genre. As far as how the game plays, it seems to play like every other FPS (or every other FPS on Wi...
