well consider yourself lucky. if you take a quick trip over to reddit you'll find plenty of disgruntled players who've lost all there progress. And, i honestly don't understand how you think losing progress isn't a big deal.. Like "oh well, i just got to the final boss and lost my entire save..thats okay though! I enjoyed putting all those hours in just for it to be taken away."
all of my progress was wiped thanks to the save error from the last patch. 15 hours lost.. and they still think my 70 dollars was justified.

i don't completely agree with that. That could also be interpreted as "if someone finished the game, but they didn't "GET IT", then they shouldn't be able to review it." Anyone who has completed the game has the right to regardless of their final opinion. However, this isn't the case in the article. They honestly couldn't finish for their own reasons and were self aware enough to realize a complete review wouldn't be appropriate.
