2TB drives are physically too tall (15 mm), they won't fit in the PS4 (9-12.5 mm).
Because the card in consideration (R9-290X) will do 1080p 120FPS or 1440p 60FPS MAXED in a heartbeat.
You just walked into a Ferrari dealer and asked about fuel efficiency for the 99%.
The 84" is $25,000 and will require a manual upgrade to HDMI 2.0.
The 65" is $5000 - 5500 depending on speakers; the 55" is $3500 - 4000 depending on speakers. Both will automatically update to HDMI 2.0.
There are some 84" LG 4k tvs going for just under $10,000 in new condition on amazon. No idea on HDMI status there.
Better, but not likely worth the money.
They can load over 1/10 of a 50GB game onto RAM at any given time, and load times should be practically non-existent.
I hear they were demoing KZ and went from waking the system from a low power state to playing a MP match in 8 sec.
I hadn't seen the 12.5 mm spec yet. Too bad, I was waiting to see if that one would fit.
Also, your acronyms are off.
SSD - solid state drive...non-mechanical...fully capable of outlasting a mechanical drive...very expensive.
SSHD - solid state hybrid drive...combination of HDD and SSD...are prone to fail for the reason I mentioned...relatively inexpensive considering performance.
HDD - hard drive disk...traditional mech...
You also have to check the height of the drive which was the 12.5 mm that codey47 mentioned.
Exactly how long have you been a PC gamer?
Do you remember the days when the hardware you had determined the games you could play BECAUSE OF APIs?
They either need to write the code for both companies APIs, or write code for the middle ground (direct X) and the API for one of the companies.
Anything less and you get a game can easily wind up unplayable on half the hardware.
Either way devs are coding the same thing more than ...
Not worth the price honestly, just to replace the 500GB HDD with a SSD of the same size will cost you $300 and that will only hold maybe 20 next gen games.
A 2TB 7200 RPM 2.5 in. is $170 on Amazon.

@superterabyte...SSHD are prone to failure due to constant increase and slowing of the read speed.
The actual price is still unknown. It was rumored that the $720 price tag included BF4 and it's season pass.
Last I heard it launches in Feb.
At least we know it won't be rushed.

"Remember, all silicon are the same! There is no special silicon that makes a part live longer."
This is perfectly misinformed statement.
EVERY single chip has imperfections of various levels, meaning any given chip may be more or less capable than any other chip that underwent the same exact process.
In fact for those of us who overclock, we reference a the purchase of chip with the ability to overclock ...
us store got it. just picked it up. not sure if its a promotion or mistake.
r9-290x is $600 and these benches are preliminary with one clearly having software related issues. There seems to be some bias in this report. Regardless nv will have to lower those prices which will be good all around.
That dragon(bus) stood no chance as I hacked at its weak points(tires).
39 in. but lacking in quality.
A decent 50" with HDMI 2.0 should be around $2000 by the end of the year.
I'd be getting one in mid-late 2014 depending on reviews and price.
@kyoss
There are $1000 50" 4k tvs. The biggest issues are that they have yet to confirm HDMI 2.0 support(possibly update-able), and are lacking quality in other aspects particularly how well they display content under 4k seeing as it is difficult to come by still.
Honestly, it's pointless to bring up dual GPU cards because it's the same as slapping in another single GPU in the next slot and Xfire or SLI-ing them.
And both sides still top out at support for 4 GPUs regardless of dual cards or not.
Get a dual Titan weighing in at $2000 and someone else will just get two R9-290X for ~$600 each and get nearly the same performance depending on any increases NV makes.
When it comes to price per perfo...

Recently, linux support has been increasing particularly indies, and the site did state that most AAA titles wil be suporting steamOS natively by next year.
@joeorc
indeed, there have been linux versions built for gaming, but never with the support and backing of valve.
Up til now, linux has been too divided and not exactly average consumer friendly.
It will be interesting to see how well valve ca...
Indeed, I fully expect it to fizzle, but this blog was more so a warning for those who think it is just a "BRILLIANT" idea.
I have no doubt that there will be performance gains for a short time. And it will catch attention, particularly among the newcomers.
