After major releases like Final Fantasy, Halo, or Dragon Quest, hardware sales tend to drop. The media in the video games industry is really sad, it would be wise to know common industry trends before you post articles like this, writing something like really make you look ignorant.

They don't need to show off the PS3 at CES, the PlayStation will have many more venue opportunities.
Let Sony focus on their other Brands outside of PlayStation, bring games into highlight when the venue is appropriate. Sony have other products to promote also.
Microsoft have the Money to keep the 360 alive in Japan as long as they want to despite sales.
It's really a shame too because the competition is good for us all and is needed, Sony and Nintendo both said on record that they hope the 360 succeeds in Japan because competition is good.

Very few so good luck making that list. Most 3rd party dev gave the Wii a shot and most ended up doing worse on the Wii than they did on the PS2 last gen, that's the reason why Sega and many more devs dropped mature content on the Wii.

Amazing for the PS3 Japan attach ratio. 1 out of 3 PS3 owners bought this game.
If the unit was 100% reliable then ok lock saved games and content to the PS3, but that's not the case the PS3 does brick and once it does you lose everything...... with no hope of getting it back unless you find a local repair shop that wont touch the HDD.
If you send it to Sony they will format the HDD and send you back a refurbished system, totally negating your back up data. If Sony does not see this as an issue then maybe it is time to give up on gaming.

Yep... you would be in an even worse position if your PS3 bricked and you sent it out for repairs only to receive a refurbished PS3, one that wont read your game saves even if you put your back up data from the bricked PS3 on it. A lot of people got burned by Sony/Developers DRM.
