I can't see me going back to PS3 games at this point. Maybe story-heavy games like MGS4 or TLOU or special experiences like Journey, but I'm not interested in old gameplay mechanics once I've got the PS4 at home. That's why my younger brother will get my PS3, he can look forward to playing my huge games collection next year :D

In no particular order. In my opinion, Uncharted doesn't really fit on Vita despite being a good game.
^The Vita price is okay imo (200€ in Europe + 10 games + 8GB memory card) but the prices for the memory cards are a joke. I'm also hoping for a cheap PS4/Vita bundle, this would sell a lot of Vitas and give developers more reason to support the console. But in the end, it's all about the games and I'm looking forward to seeing new Vita&PS4 announcements.

Even if you aren't lucky from the beginning you might get to play the later, less bug-ridden stages of the beta when it's opening up.

Exactly my thoughts, of course competition is good but it also depends on what competition that is.
A company like Microsoft which relies heavily on timed exclusives/DLC's, clingy subscription services and customer/developer-unfriendly strategies is not what gaming needs right now. Even though some of those points changed by now we know that it did not happen out of goodwill.
List could be much better, for someone who was gaming on a 360 for years there are other titles far more important to catch up on PS3's exclusives.
Just to name a few:
- Journey (+ Flower eventually)
- Demon's Souls (Yes, it's better than Dark Souls)
- Ni No Kuni (lovely game)
- Metal Gear Solid: 4 (with TLOU my favourite game of this generation)
- God Of War 3 (doesn't need any explanation)

Why does Microsoft invest in timed exclusives (which don't contribute to gaming in any way but are only marketing) while Sony finances a lot of studios to develop real exclusives?

Sony definately deserves praise for the efforts they make in gaming.
I still think that they, on par with Nintendo, are the most passionate game companies out there who really want to offer value to their customers. Microsoft on the other hand is your typical american company like EA or Activision which primarily have your $$$ in mind, so I have absolutely no sympathy for them.
I did this and ended up with Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush, Wipeout 2048 and a lot of smaller titles ready to play when I bought my Vita :D
PS+ is just incredible and soon it's coming to PS4 :D

Thank you for your objectivity. As you can see below, some are honestly trying to defend this. In my opinion, of all the improvements (40?) they made to the new controller, this belongs to the Top3 that were really necessary.

It's utterly pathetic trying to defend something that other companies simply are doing way better for years now. Batteries are so not 2013, especially for a 500$ piece of hardware running with high end technology.
Didn't you notice that most decisions MS made in the last couple of months were based on what Sony is offering already? It's probably better that way but there won't be much differencies between both consoles when MS continues this strategy.
