^Yes it was due to the complex cell architecture, developers needed very long to get used to the hardware. Fortunately, Sony learned from that mistake and is being praised for their new approach now so I'm expecting shorter development times and higher quality from first and third party studios with PS4 =)
I'd guess it's the reveal of Naughty Dog's first team's PS4 project. It has to be something big if the other hint was for the PS4 launch date. But it could also be a big coincidence so I'm not expecting anything ;D

There are so many big and good games coming out this holiday season, they wouldn't be smart to pack everything into the launch-lineup. They'll probably announce a lot of games from the really big first party studios before the PS4 launch which will be released all throughout 2014 & 2015.

Yes, it is. Microsoft messed up this launch in the worst way, The Xbox One looks rushed no matter how you look at it and the dozens of strategy changes in the last couple of weeks just testify this.

I'm sure my little brother or cousin will love this (just like my generation loved Crash Bandicoot and Spyro) but I'm not so sure whether I'm too old and "experienced" to enjoy this. If you've played so many games for over a decade it's hard to see the fun in such simple games ...but since my brother convinced me to get it I'll definately give it a try.

I'd rather have rewards like free DLC, bonus maps/cars/characters/etc., dynamic themes or PSN credit. I don't expect expensive real life rewards for my virtual achievements. Further more, real life rewards probably would be available in North America only ...digital rewards would benefit the whole world.
I will start collecting trophies like a mad-man again if it will really look like this :D
I stopped caring for trophies about 2 years ago but at the beginning it was really cool and motivating collecting everything in a game.
Sounds like the XBL rewards program but knowing Sony, they won't just simply copy it but make it even better and customer friendly.
I remember one time where Sony added 50 bucks to my PSN account just to thank me for spending so much cash on the PSN store ...I will never forget that :D
Indeed, I'm glad it slowly gets the love it deserves. I found smaller games like Sound Shapes or Hotline Miami way more enjoyable on Vita than on PS3 so I'll probably get most of my indie games on Vita now.

Thanks for the link to the download! There are worlds between Youtube quality and this. To me, this looks way more "next-gen" (especially in terms of lightning, particle effects and texture detail) than anything I've seen from BF or CoD. Now the wait's gonna be unbearable :/
It seems like the focus is on WiiU and PS4 comes only second to reach a bigger audience ...if it would have been primarily for PS4 I would have considered backing it but I don't want a WiiU port.
Wise decision as you can see :P
