If you read the first paragraph you would see that these are ESTIMATES, we all know you can't trust VGcharts for estimates, or really anything.

Yeah, they haven't even developed a efficient emulation for the GPU yet and if they did, I say 30% of games at best. I know there are emulators for PC but they can only play about 30% of ps2 games, maybe. And not a single game works even halfway decent. It would be pointless to spend millions of $$$ only to end up with 30% compatibility.

It will make Sony and MS try to be more casual but Nintendo has already snatched up the entire casual fanbase and that's when they go hardcore, all the casual buyer will still get the next Nintendo and so will the hardcore, leaving Sony and MS all by them selfs.
I can see MS getting phased by this but not Sony.

I know, I heard the rumor too, I was just saying how it wouldn't be possible, unless you only wanted to play less than 30% of ps2 games, at best and none would run properly. And cause a LOT of people think the EE was the only thing in the 20/60GB, and the 80GB/PAL 60GB run solely on emulation, but they all need the graphics synthesizer(ps2 GPU).

This could mean they will use HVD next generation, 3.9 terabyte(3900GB, no typo) storage capacity on one disk

But they may only be using it like a hard drive, using it only to store extra information like DLC, not the game itself

Not possible, it need the ps2's GPU, the 80GB don't have ps2 BC only on software emulation, it needs the ps2's GPU and the ps2's CPU or software emulation to replace the CPU, the GPU can't be replaced by software emulation, If they do develop software emulation for the GPU expect BC with under 30% of ps2 games.
