i think UE4 was his original plan as the E3 2016 trailer was made in that, but afterwards mark cerny offered kojima to travel with him to sony's studios around the world for the best engine and he picked decima, which IMO feels like UE4 maxed out.
well the ps4 also had mass shortages on release and for the next few months. actually the switch didn't have shortages during BF.

yea 2019 has less of sony first party games than 2018 but it will definitely be it's biggest and heaviest exclusives.

by this report the estimate for each console seems to be
PS4 - 1.540.000
Xbox One - 1.400.000
Switch - ~800.000
that means that the ps4 has outsold switch by almost 2:1 although xbox has managed to hold up fairly well.
if the PS4 will sell at the same rate as it does now it will do that by june 2019, BUT considering the unbelieveable line up sony has ready for 2018 + probably a permenant price drop to 199$ i believe they could make it reach the 100m mark in a year from now.
TBH, the ps2 had 115mil when the PS3 launched and only reached 155 mil in 2012, the ps4 could do something similar as well and perhaps surpass ps2.
