Nobody invited them to rewrite their code, they are invited to develop games for Wii U not PORTS! It looks like there are only two consoles in the market atm ( x86-PS4/XBOX 0 and PPC-WiiU) is it THAT hard to develop for TWO consoles. Do they remember PAST when they had to develop for 3-4 consoles with different architecture???
They will have descent support as time goes by. Only 6 months passed. Give it a chance.
No Gimmick? Have you played for example NBA 2k13 on Wii U with new gamepad? That's what I call gimmicky + innovative gameplay.
I agree that Wii U performace is a bit below expected, but take a look at some trailers e.g. Blacklist, Assassins Creed 3. They are proof that games can still look nice.
More 3rd party games will come if we buy more Wii U consoles. Wii U need bigger market share. There will be more 3rd party games for Wii U in future but not as much as for PS4. Is that an issue? Absolutly not. Exclusive Nintendo games + mediocre 3rd party support will do well.
Wii U already have support for Netflix, Hulu and that's enough multimedia for GAMING CONSOLE!!!

No game console died because of horrible hardware (except handhelds). SOFTWARE! GAMES! will sell ANY hardware. Trust me, If WII U get several 9.5-10 games IT WON't die it will be success!
No, getting some money to buy Wii U. I knew this would happen. XBOX ONE and PS4 will only bring better graphics, nothing else, we will still play ANOTHER COD, ANOTHER FORZA, ANOTHER MADDEN, where is revolution in gaming like one in 90's? I can only see abusing game consoles for TV distribution and that has nothing to do with game consoles. They want to ABUSE Game Console reputation for TV and other Multimedia services. Horrible!
