Kinect will be the must have Xmas gift this year. When the marketing blitz starts things will get even crazier.
1.5ml is nothing if you consider one user can buy up to 4 controllers. Still needs a lot more if dev will start making exclusive games for it.

You can blame the decline on the Wii, I bet even the PS3 topped it this month. Nintendo seriously need a price cut especially if they want to complete with Move/Kinect.

Kinect will help MS sustain this incredible momentum.
Remember Shipped isn't the same as Sold. Its likely a lot less than that.
Kinect will win in terms of adoption, plus it will have a much high attach rate for games. 3rd party support for Kinect is also looking a lot more promising than Move's too.
If it failed why are so many people preordering it? Even more than Move. So if Kinect has fail Move must be a disaster.
Of course its worth it, its not only about the games there are great media capabilities for it too like Video Kinect and gesture navigation. Im sure there are loads of people would it just for that.

Those 3 days could cause the game to release on the same day or dangerously close to Black Ops. The question is will Sony risk loosing some GT buyers to COD or will they delay it into december.

I don't see why you would tire of them they are arguably the best in the industry. Epic scenes with epic music can never go wrong in my books.
They actually mention in the article that the 360 sold 70,000 on it launch weekend so expect them to sell at least that on launch day in the UK alone.
More than any Xbox launch? Could that mean Kinect could sell 1ml worldwide day 1, that would be very impressive for an accessory.

They said they are shipping more than any Xbox launch, so find those numbers and you got a minimum of how much the initial allocation is.
Like Sony and the PS3 Slim and Move, or maybe Nintendo and the Wii, or Apple and the iPhone 4 etc etc.
Yeah they could all be fake shortages or maybe they really are actually in high demand.
I wouldn't say 500K for just the UK is "low initial stock". That is very impressive for one region where its priced so high at £130.
MS definitely is not messing around when it comes to Kinect, these features alone will sell 1ml Kinects.
