For the record I avoided this whole Phil Fish fiasco on the count of it being ridiculously blown out of proportion. I mean, sure the guy did make a pretty stupid comment (or better yet comments) but no matter what position in the indie scene he might have been in he is only human and probably couldn't take the hate any longer, not to mention the fact that Fish is somewhat of a loose canon to begin with.

There is no reason the two games can't be considered equals, after all they are both very exceptional games in their own right. Besides, no matter how good the Last of Us may be, it is by no means a flawless game.

Yeah same here, for all of it's shortcomings Portable Ops was a great game IMO, shame that it might not even be cannon.
Exactly, most of us know that the future of gaming is digitally downoadable games, but if companies want us to go willingly towards that then they need to make it worth our while. I for one refuse to spend $60 on a digital game that I can't sell on or trade between family and friends.
While I imagine the PS4 and XB1 will eventually gain a near equal install base, I will have to go with the PS4 as my first next gen console choice out of the two. Sony came out of the gate with their PS4 unveiling with clear dedication to gamers in mind, Sony may not be breaking the mould so to speak, but I respect them for not tacking the same root with restrictive DRM Microsoft first intended with their initial unveiling of the XB1.

I actually remembering watching the Apple presentation all those years back where they showed of the early build of an RTS game Bungie was working on for them, who'd have thought Microsoft would swoop in later on and claim Bungue along with their IP for themselves, and then go to launch Halo, arguably one of the most popular FPS's of the last 10 years.

It would be more accurate to blame the money hungry pubs, not all of them but those who place priority on maximising sales over creating worth while content.
If a game won't sell based off of it's own merits then go for the blatant over sexualisation approach it seems.
Still this is "Final Fantasy XIII" we're talking about, if Squenix weren't running the series head first into the ground this kind of thing wouldn't be necessary, not that I think it is "necessary" per se but you get my point I hope.

The majority of hate is fanboy driven as is usually the case, MS were very ambitious, probably too ambitious for their own good. Creating a all in one multi media entertainment device is an admirable undertaking but the negative policies that they wanted to implement along with it were just unacceptable.
Sure they f'd up, it happens, but we shouldn't forgive them too easily. I do honestly hope MS get back on top of things but until then this down time will only help r...

Maybe I'll get one eventually but I'm still a little bitter towards MS atm.
If people want to purchase the Xbox One then that's fair enough, it is their right to choose.
But I seriously wish that these gamers would at least consider the potential negative ramification that may come about through loyally, and/or blindly supporting any company who back peddles on their policies, not because they are bad policies, but because the negative press was such that they simply had no choice if they wanted to remain as relevant competition this coming gen. ...
Porn has been in games for years now, and seeing as how widespread gaming is these days it's only a natural development that these kinds of games will come about one eventually, no matter how much you, I or anyone else might dislike that it won't change a thing.
The only thing you really need care about is that you're still going to able to play games and enjoy them, because those "pleasure games" aren't going to somehow effect all of gaming.
