Or quite possibly the thermal paste being shot.
My launch 360 works so I can vouch for that. However the thermal paste was replaced with Ic Diamond and the system is getting the efficient cooling it so requires. The chances of my 360 getting the RRoD are much less likely, otherwise it would've gotten it by now.
I did the same repair on all my PS3s as well. YLOD begone!
One of the reasons why I despise the idea of relying on online services to deliver gaming, aka cloud computing gaming. If there are no pirates, then there will be hackers, to ruin it for everyone. It'll only get worse as nothing is secure enough.
I'll have to seek a new hobby if these future predictions of gamers being doomed to cloud computing are to be believed.
No doubt the guy is remarkable for his programming skills, but I am not going to believe any 10-year prediction until I actually observe it happening. The death of PC gaming predictions have swirled around for years and PC gaming is still going strong.
OnLive: Hotel Room gaming for the masses!
No thanks...
You must work for EA, right?
Never, unless the video game industry quit being such greedy f***s with their nickel & dime tactics. Pigs will fly first.
Indeed, the industry can take their nickel & dime schemes and shove it up their @$$.
At least we have pillows to sit on when we're butthurt.
Yeah, the Wii is a blast and Nintendo's games don't disappoint in quality. Unfortunately the better games on the Wii are buried under the shovelware garbage, but the Wii is still awesome for what it is.
My launch 360 still works, with no history of RRoD and repairs. My 5 different PS3s in my house still work, and that includes a 20GB, a 60GB PS3, an 80GB 2USB PS3, and 2 Slims. Wii also still works.
What p!sses me off about this generation is not the hardware failures but the nickel & dime moves that is exploding in the video game industry. You purchase a $60 game and that is only partial of the full game and charging you more for content the greedy f***s decided to cut f...
Back then:
Games come in full games with no cut content to purchase
7th generation:
$60 for partial games, cut content available for a few extra dollars
Yep, this generation is a laugh.
That is one of the reasons why this generation of gaming is a complete train wreck. Since the beginning of this pathetic generation of gaming, nickel & dime tactics have exploded like cancer among the bulk of the industry. Gone are the days of unlockable content, replaced by money grabbing schemes. The video gaming industry is the greediest on the entire planet.
I am burned out from playing FPS game after FPS game, so I won't be purchasing either BF3 or MW3. Hope this game does well though.
MW3 will outsell BF3, not that I am interested in either game. Where's Dark Cloud 3 for gamers that are simply tired of nickel & dime shooters?
DLC = cut content. Gone are the golden age days of unlockable content, it's all about nickel & diming. Yep, this generation of gaming is an apocalypse.
Technically a gaming generation is not in the graphics but the cycle and era of consoles when the console is released. The Wii U is a member of the next console cycle that PS4 and the new Xbox will be a part of.
So they went from 100% free to 90% free (percentage excluding map packs and the base $60 game). 10% is all nickel & dime tactics, a 7th generation tradition!
Those glory days died with the beginning of this apocalypse that is the 7th generation of gaming. Yep, this generation is the worst thing that happened to video gaming since the Atari crash.
Mine is not in that batch fortunately. Time to change my credentials though.
