I don't think much has changed at all Xbox One is still a console. You still have to choose Xbox (W10/Console), Nintendo(Wii/NX/DS) or Playstation(Vita/Console). Microsoft just added a new platform(PCMasterRace) to the Xbox ecosystem.

PC gamers using steam is not a big deal at all. Its not like they exclusively use Steam. They can download shit from multiple stores. If a game is exclusive to one store. they'll just install it from that store. And the beauty of the windows 10 store is, you don't even have to install it, its already built-into Windows 10. And since a lot of xbox games are coming to windows 10. Windows store is going to be used a lot in the coming years. Gears of War 4, Halo Wars 2 and Forza Horizon 3...
Halo 5 is the best halo ever made. Forza Games keep getting better and more exciting, which is why they are considered the best racing games in the industry, and that trend continued with Forza Horizon. Killer Instinct is dominating in the fighting game industry. Gears 4 is a long awaited sequel to a beloved franchise. Microsoft definitely knows how to make games. Also you could say that Xbox One S will have an advantage as well since it will be much cheaper than the NEO. And average consumers don't care about which is more powerful. Xbox has a good chance to dominate this holiday season.
The Sony conference was better but Microsofts conference was FAR from forgettable. They actually confirmed a 6tflops console is incoming. 6tflops is more powerful than most gaming rigs today. When Scorpio comes out it will be like it used to be back in the days when consoles were more powerful than most PCs

What does this mean tho? ps fans will get a Ps5 3 years from now and It won't support ps4 games and accessories? because that's how the "traditional console lifecycle" works. If that's the case then good luck with that. when its Xbox 5 vs PS5. Where with Xbox 5 all your games and accessories will still work and PS5 you start all over again including with dev support.

All games will work on Xbox One. But I doubt that will be the case in 4 or 5 years. but by then the Xbox One will be at least 7 years old. That's more than a normal console generation. So its really not a big deal. The fact that we don't have to deal with Backwards Compatibility and remasters anymore is a huge deal. Since all games will continue to work.
I had a guy telling me that PS4 NEO will run 1080p games better than the Xbox Scorpio because at 1080p the Xbox Scorpio will run at the same 1.3tflops the Xbox One has.
How the tables have turned. Xbox One seems to be more open than Playstation now.
NEO probably wont be able to do 4k60fps if it launches this year. but Scorpio on the other hand is coming out late next year. They can definitely build a true 4k60fps console by then,

Sonys conference was good and everything but that Spiderman Game looked like every other recent attempt at a Spiderman game. I think the fact that its exclusive (might be timed even) is whats getting to PS4 fanboys.

it will play all Xbox One games. And Since you cant play halo on your PS4. They are still exclusives. Xbox is now a PC and Console Ecosystem.

The rumored specs for the NEO come from the dev kits. So development is definitely happening.
