They were never going to release a console every year. That's just dumb. It's gonna be every 3-4 years. But like the smartphone model, if you have a fairly decent iPhone(4s), you can still download the latest apps. If you have an older iPhone, 3GS for example, you won't be able to download the new apps, but on the new iPhone your old apps will work and maybe better. Same thing is gonna happen with Xbox.

Devs optimize for the hardware when they have the capacity/money to do so, just because the hardware is more powerful doesn't mean they will actually take advantage of it. That is why first party games are always the games that use the console to its fullest potential. The PS5 can come out and third party games will still look as good as the Xbox X2 version(assuming they are equally powerful) but with the disadvantage of them not being on PS4 giving Xbox the install base advantage.
Or it will come to Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC. And PS4 will be cut from crossplay. I doubt they're going to ignore the Switch and Xbox Market because of sony.

How is this awesome news if it means it won't support old PS4 accessories and PS4 Games? That is how console generations usually work. If this is the way sony is going. Expect huge backlash from customers and devs. The console generation thing is just dumb. Devs leave tens of millions of potential customers behind to dev for a console with only a fraction of that install base after just 4 years. are great exclusives for the year.
And Halo 5, Gears 4, Quantum Break and Sunset Overdrive are still great buys if you haven't played them. A lot of people still play Halo 5 and Gears 4.

of course not. That's a dumb question. My prediction is it will sell about 2 million around 3-4 months in. 10 million in 3-4 years. That's a success for a console that is targeting a niche. You need to have a 4K TV (majority still own 1080p TV's) and the Xbox One X that's a very niche market. It might also get a push from streamers because of Mixer and 4K 60fps broadcasting.
