Nice attempt, but Sony gave them more than double the budget and at least a year more development time than Evolution projected that they needed, so Sony didn't butcher anything, Evolution had all the power in their own hands and shot themselves in the foot. If they actually delivered what they promised Sony, they would have had just as much freedom and financial backing as the other Sony owned studios have.

True, I been playing Dreams tutorials for a few hours before posting that so my old brain is cooking. "I'm too old for this shit" :)
But Rusty at Evolution Studios confirmed that they used twice the budget that Sony gave them, so of course Sony coulnd't just keep on pouring over 100 millions into a gameproject like DriveClub. Rusty and the team at Evolution Studios killed the studio, not Sony. Sony gave them more time and more money but in the end, they coulnd't justify it anymore for a title like DriveClub.

If you bought it (and the dlc) you can download it. They are just shutting down the online part. Sadly that means that challenges from other players wont pop up as you drive the races and that will make the game feel much more "empty" than it used to do.

As a game "journalist" you should know that this started as a PS3 title and they decided to convert all code to PS4 code and after that they expanded of their vison as the PS4 was that much more powerful.

Why would you ask Cory Barlog from Santa Monica Studios to make a sequel to The Order 1886 made by Ready At Dawn ? Makes no sense. And Cory wasn't even working for a Sony studio at the time The Order was released....
I took your advise and changed the thermal paste (if I can call it that, like you said, dry clay was more like it). I watched 2 different YouTube videos too be sure I put the thermal pads right and now it's REALLY really quiet.
I'm going to finish my Survivor + playthrough of Last Of Us and then try God Of War again, that game really made my Pro take off into orbit. That should be the ultimate test for the new thermal paste, but so far so good !

I actually bought Thermal Grizzly and some new cooling pads or whatever it's called for the memory chips, but I haven't come around to tear my latest (white) Pro apart yet. But maybe I should, as Nioh 2 comes at 13th March and I guess I play that as much as first game (800 hours plus hehe) so that wont be easy for my console ;)
My original PS4 is "made in japan". Still working smooth and quiet after all these years (bought on release day).
My first Pro lasted 1 yr 8 months before it died. The chinese had not been too good with correct use of the thermal paste...

It's like Netflix and their "4K"-streams. Watching one of those compared to a true 4K UHD Disc played on a topend 4K UHD player is like night and day. Streaming has a loooooong way to go before they pass local hardware in quality.
