@gamma next gen only implies that the system,architecture or what ever is better then the thing that came before it,it gets confusing when you compare it to competing systems and architeture.

Ms past till present,pro's and con's
Has maintained a cheaper price in comparison to Sony,had a better online this gen,had better third party support,had or aquired high profile content for their system,lacks diversity and variety for exlusives,this one is my personal opinion but feel it's true,casual gamers are represented to much as they aren't cons...
@tech some things that kinda proves spinal right,the ps3 is still more expensive than the 360,in the beginning its online wasn't comparable to Ms,there were quality port issues with third parties,it came out later and still sold better in lest time.
And a katana,fire axe,hatchet,tire iron,meat cleaver,crow bar,dual knuckleduster regular and electrified,lever guns,revolver,anti materiel weapons,50bmg,14.5mm rifles,20mm rifles and various grenade launchers.
@pop I understand what you're saying,it's technically "next gen" based upon its time of release but I'm looking at from both time and tech perspective.
@pop that's if you're comparing it to the same console released by the same company.what killed nintendo with it being compared to Ms and Sony is,the wii,wiiu,as I feel both could've easily occupied a space where it was noticeably better then previous console but no as strong as Ms and Sony's offering.
Your name leads me to believe you're saying that because nintendo didn't design the wiiu to be the best it could've been,it's difficult to say what next gen means for Sony and Ms because I think the switch from ps2-3 was graphical change ps3-4 is more of a techolgical change.
Specs of the ps4 leaked before the official announcement in February,we have a rough idea on what may be in side of the next box, just no confirmation if all that was reported is true.
@hesido the longest wait is in the first chapter,if I remember right it's light 5 or 8 mins long.
@limbro You are trying to hard,next gen console won't be affected by next gen PC's as some of the feature are already the same but much more efficient.

I think Sony's version is better but its still crap as it doesn't really change gameplay.
@decrypt there is no gddr6 coming out sense stacked ram it's suppose to upped the bandwidth,do you know for a fact that nvidia are really going to reach that speed.
@sak Sony never mention toy story graphics,it was some dude working with Ms and the 1080p 120 fps was something guaranteed but thought possible based of specs.

@logic I don't know how my comment can be representative of all gamers be they Sony or Ms fans because nothing I wrote suggest I was speaking for everyone,unless your seeing what you want to see,I merely suggested it being difficult for Ms to show anything better other than games,social features apps and connectivity to the console would be similar between them.
@logic you're being a little up-tight about my comment,because how can Ms improve on social features that Sony showed?apps are most likely going to be even between the both of them,games are the only way Ms can wow people,pricing can be a factor but rumors seem to indicate a similar pricing between the two.
@logic there is nothing Ms could better other than games to have a better conference than Sony.

Before the vita was launched the 3ds had a significant price cut.
@coolbean just because it was announced doesn't mean they were developing the game because if anyone remembers sorcery for the ps move,what we saw was just a playable proof of concept .
