Once I buy a game I don't re-sell it at any point.
I don't see the point in buying a game then re-selling it.
So it wouldn't faze me much if EA games can or can't be re-sold.

.wtv is Windows TV media format.
It can't be played in media player only the media center supports it.
The PS3 doesn't connect to media center or the player.
It connects to DLNA servers, and any device that has that can connect to any DLNA server.
The media center and player support the DLNA server side, so it can connect to TVs and stereos etc.
Thats simply a case of not having to worry about paying it for 3 years.
So you have to mess around with monthly payments etc.
People do the same thing in MMOs.
grabbing 600K WOW players isn't much really.
Many a Dev have said they are the next WOW and while they might get 2-3 million sales and have that many playing for a month or 2 it all dies off after 3 months as those people go back to WOW.
To me Rift looks the same as Aion, so it probably won't keep it's player base.
If I remember correctly this games Advertising was all based around the 360, and in the very last quarter second there was something about it working on a PS3 or something like that.
I don't know about other people who have a PS3 but I'm probably not going to buy a 360 game if I don't own one and 99% of a game ADs are only about it working on the 360.

If the game has a 2 gig patch like some do straight up and some Devs these days think that is fine and dandy to do if your connection is very slow it'll take many days just to download a patch and you can't play a steam game once a patch has started to download as it locks it.

Retailers ditched it because someone can buy a game, that's really just a steam release on a disk.
Install the game use the key have it up and running.
Then take the game back and say it doesn't work and demand a refund, get it and the store has a non-useable copy of the game that would be a post-sale item on the shelf.

What your seeing is the PC devs that have made a couple of console games on the side for the time being, come back to the real dev money maker the PC.
PC GFX cards are all stupidly fast that running at 2000x3000 resolution is a complete piss take, the problem for these cards isn't the card itself but the monitor because most can't do these resolutions.

Look at Doom, it'd be far and away much larger than GoW games but it's movie was utter crap.
The difference with a movie compared to a game is it's a liner story, it can't branch off like a game can and generally does when you do different things, and that is what makes things exciting/popular in a game.
