We now know that Gold is still mandatory on all multiplayer and required for services that are free elsewhere, like multimedia services. PS+ is not required for multimedia apps and requirement for multiplayer is more limited. With negotiations from pubs or devs, F2P games and asynchronous online multiplayer can still be free.
