I'll stand and say it's not canon then. I don't care how long after MGS 4 it takes place, it's not canon. It's not the Solid universe, period. Throwing a Metal Gear battle in the mix doesn't make it canon. Etsu Tamari is the writer, so before you spout anymore misinformation, look up what it is you're talking about.
It's not canon. It's in the Meta Gear universe, but has nothing to do with the Solid series. Kojima producing is not the same as Kojima directing. Also, there's a "touch" of stealth. All that said, I'm interested in checking it out. I'm just sick of outlets claiming it's something it isn't. Let it and the skill of Platinum Games speak for itself.

So because Raiden uses a codec and there's alert states, it's Metal Gear? He even said it's Metal Gear because of alternate weapons. Haha, wha? Where does IGN find these people? It's not canon, it's not Kojima, it's not Metal Gear. That's not a dig at the game, it's a reality. Doesn't mean it won't be fun, awesome even, but MG: Ground Zeroes is a true Metal Gear game.
I think it's a "scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" situation. Platinum Games obviously wanted to make a sequel, desperately needed publisher. Nintendo obviously wants core gamers, desperately needed core credibility. The partnership helps both get what they want, while giving gamers (granted Wii U gamers) the game they've been requesting. I have no issue with exclusivity. I don't feel entitled to get the game on my console of preference. I just want to see more of ...

Dude...why not just get one and enjoy it? It's less draining than coming off as someone who is just hating for the sake of hating. Get a PS4 too. There are plenty of people who have more than one console. I currently have a Wii, 2 PS3s, a Vita and a 3DS. Really, having multiple consoles and gaming is way more fun than having one and complaining or trying to downplay the excitement for a new console.
I mean...I guess the Wii U hardware, technically, will not be as powerful as the PS4 or 720...but why does that even matter? It's not like great games aren't going to be on it. Did you see Rayman? Christ, if you threw it into the sky, it'd be called sunshine. Trying to pick apart, won't change the awesome of it. Just my take.

Walmart still has Basic consoles available for pre-order, but it's in a ridiculous bundle. Shame Amazon won't/can't sell them.
Resistance 3 has full campaign coop. And it's awesome. Sony just didn't do a good job advertising it and picked an awful release date. It simply got over shadowed by Dead Island and its hype.
I don't care what they do, but they need to do something.
If I were a person looking to buy a PS3, I'd have ZERO problem paying $20 more for a BUNDLE than just buying a standalone console with less HDD space and no game or DLC.
As long as the Wii U is playing games that are on and look the same as PS3/360 versions, both MS and Sony can compete.
What they showed of LBP2 PS3/Vita connectivity makes me agree. Hell, it was better than what we've seen of Wii U games.

It's a bundle. $20 more than a 160GB standalone PS3. And comes with a 250GB HDD, Uncharted 3 and a $30 worth of content DUST514 voucher. What value do these people not see? And what the hell is it supposed to offer that is new?
And you can pop an off the shelf HDD in it to expand storage. I'll be shocked if it doesn't make its way to the States.
