They don't even sell parts as old as the PS4 hardware anymore so no, you can't build a reasonably priced $400 PC. You'd have to ask for the parts to be specifically manufactured.

No, you cannot build a PC for a cheaper price than the PS4 for several key reasons.
1. Free Online + Best Online Structure (PS4 would cost more if you didn't have to pay a subscription fee for PSN)
2. The PS4, while it's games look fine, cannot run current gen games like Crysis 3 on ultra settings and will probably never be able to run a game as well as PC.

3D World is getting some kick ass reviews. Much better than any of the ps4/xb1 launch games. Looks like all the best "next gen" games are on wii u this holiday.

This article is beyond sad. This whole PS4 vs Xbox One thing needs to stop. There's no sense in comparing two consoles which are nearly identical or glorifying the fanboy wars.
Just buy the console you want, discuss it maturely, and be done with it.
Note: 26,000 is a very small percentage of IGN's reader base which is millions of unique views a month. There's also the fact that Nintendo fans are naturally less likely to engage in console wars so they don't vote.
