thinking that ground zeroes will be really short (think Snake's part in MGS2) but phantom pain is open world, I've not seen an open world game yet that doesn't have at least 15hours of content even if the main story can be finished in 5 hours with a speed run.

figured out what I didn't like about that mario game. 3d sucks, characters turn like a tank.

The marketing is terrible too. MS is trying to sell the x1 as an all in one device when other options do it better and far cheaper.
Their commercials are generic and forgettable. Whereas sony has given us such memorable things as the PS9, crash calling out nintendo, kevin butler, and their new commercials are epic as well. I played about 25 minutes actually. Enough to not be impress. Though admittedly I haven't cared too much for ANY 3d mario game, much rather have my 8 bit era.
Haven't played either of those, and never said they were good, have no intention of buying either of them. Mario has been doing the same thing since I was about 1month old
what pray tell does anyone have to learn from MS's marketing? except as a cautionary tale of things to not do
they don't just bring the games. They make their fans confident that it is a good investment. Nintendo fans don't have that confidence when pretty much EVERY major publisher has criticized the machine and pulled support.
From the very start Sony's PR has been on game. Everytime a concern was raised it was addressed hell how many questions did Yoshida answer through twitter (lol remember DRM devel ray manta)
I played a WiiU while waiting for my PS4 last Thursday at a Gamestop kiosk. The game was the mario world game or whatever they are calling it. It was extremely uninventive and didn't feel next gen at all. It looked OK but the gameplay felt very unpolished unlike past marios I've played the jumping felt off somehow. can't really put my finger on it but it was a pretty meh experience.

yeah it was the only game I bought for the ps4. Was planning on getting watchdogs instead but it got pushed back. kinda glad it did because then I wouldn't of experienced this great game. I haven't played the series since 2 and it has come a LONG way. so much to do. been playing nonstop for over a week and am still only at 50% completion
