I think that most of that dominance was due to the better online service. I don't think many gamers really cared about whether or not one version of the game had a little more grass here or an extra tree there.
MS will eventually catch Sony because they're enthusiastic about big budget exclusives while Sony's yoshida can't even understand why people prefer big budget games when compared to indies. That's very telling.

The PS3 was not more powerful it had inferior RAM and GPU and most big budget multi-plats proved that as fact. Uncharted could have also been easily done on the 360 with the exact same results. The Cell was nothing but a bunch of PR bullshit that fanboys and the media bought hook, line and sinker. When first party devs came out and said "can't be done on the 360" it was PR bullshit! When are you people going to smarten up and learn from past ignorance?

Yeah ok, it only took Sony 8 years to overcome a 10 million gap in sales and even then it still hasn't managed to outsell it; at least I haven't seen any creditable proof it.
I agree, Kinect was the downfall of Xbox but all that has changed with new management and games are now the main focus; the way it should be. While discussing downfalls though it's worth mentioning Sony's new focus on indies vs big budget games.
