On a second note, I wonder how gaming journalism is in Japan regarding this. I don't know a single thing about journalism in Japan but how to they focus on reviews in general and how do the gamers over there respond to them?
I feel regarding the GT5 review in west here things are just a mess. On "war" leads to another "war".
Sure there are problems but would it hurt to actually write a positive article about GT5 and what the games does good?
Seriously, I've not seen one of these articles yet!
I'm glad :)
At this point I don't care anymore. I won't be buying another CoD product because there are other greater games out there. I'm really dead tired of the cod franchise. When we get changes from MW2 to Black Ops which basically could be a patch for MW2 that's where I put down the line.
I also feel that gaming journalism is kinda out of hand. There is too many fighting for hits.
If there is news, you be sure to hear about it. Not only that, they will over analyze anything these days. Also the articles which tells us about reveals is just stupid.
"Tomorrow *** will reveal this and that". Where is the surprise now a days? Look at Uncharted 3 for VGA. We don't know, but it's a rumor. Someone could maybe have figured out that...
I'm overly happy with the Castlevania reboot tho. I know many aren't because it's not a "Castlevania" game, but for me it's my game of the year without hesitation.
If GT6 will not be on the PS3 but on the PS4 they will need to rework their engine for the PS4, the same Square Enix did for Final Fantasy 13 for this gen resulting in a very long development time.
Tbh, I think it's best if we give them the time to do GT6 for the next consoles because I don't except them to give us GT6 on the PS3.
This is the decade of reboots :p
hehe funny :p
On a serious note tho. The newly Prince of Persia movie based on the games turned out really good IMO and I think that's because the creators of Prince of Persia had a big hand in the movie.
I would rather see that some key people in uncharted was helping and brought his passion over to the movies and helped.
He is too old now anyways. Mark is more like Nathans age.
With todays games I don't really understand what the guy in the article is saying.
With a sequel today you cannot except much more than what we got from AC2 to AC:Brotherhood. Most sequels can be considered 2.5 I guess.
Developers want to take an established franchise and roll a game out every 1 or 2 years and with that they got limited time to do stuff with the game and might postpone ideas and such for the next one.
Well, kinda, I guess :p
But don't forget that the HD consoles will possibly attract a whole new crowd now seeing the motion controls.
Assassin's Creed Brotherhoods MP is underrated imo. I'm having a blast with it and personally prefer Manhunt MP mode. Hopefully they will release a Advanced Manhunt as well :p
Replying to myself here but
Let's look at 2 sites. The one site gives out review scores. Both sites have a pretty active comment section and forum. The site who gave out review scores got a bunch of people comparing that score to other game scores, and it's more or less a war at that site.
The other site writes their review and express their opinion through however they review a game. People at that site rather share their own opinions in the comment...
I can't believe people are not getting this.
Here is the basics. By expecting things you naturally will be disappointed once in a while. The more you expect from something the bigger may the disappointed be.
GT5 has been hyped through he roof and people are expecting godly things from it.
GT5 is not a bad game and if you are disappointed it's all your own fault, because you set your own expectations based on ridiculous hype.
Personally I'm against review scores.
It's like putting a score on something people will enjoy differently and develop different opinions about. It's doomed to be disagreements because generally people don't respect others opinions.
Yea I agree.
I love the GT5 franchise so I will buy their games. I think Yamaguchi is a very likable person and he develop games out of passion, not movie licenses etc.
I'm not going to say that his passion didn't extend the development cycle for the game when it maybe should have been released earlier and rather postponed other stuff for GT6, but I respect his decision.
If Yamaguchi isn't disappointed with GT5, why the heck sh...
This is getting ridiculous. Reviews are OPINIONS much as my own and your opinion.
If we add up all the comments about our review sites then no one is trustworthy. Meaning an opinion is not trustworthy. Doesn't make sense does it?
GT5 was over hyped and everybody is tearing GT5 down for mistakes as we speak because PS3 fans have hyped the game up in the sky.
Don't tell me because of Kinect? :p
I feel that supposedly objectivity is very subjective now a days seeing how review scores can go from all the way up from 5 to 9.5.
That's generally speaking ofc.
