Hopefully, with them not showing games that we were expecting, that means they'll have the opportunity to show games we weren't expecting. New IP's please!
The difference this time is that last gen when Xbox launched first, Sony didn't rush to get to market and released PS3 a year later. This time, Sony was ready first, but it seems in my opinion, Microsoft rushed to get the Xbox One out to compete. It doesn't seem like they were looking to launch the One this early.
I could be wrong though.
I'm hoping we hear about some new IP's that we had no clue about before. Like not even a hint, just something completely out of the blue.
I wouldn't necessarily say it's time to leave it behind, as the next gen just started, but it's nice to see a developer not trying to milk a game by releasing it across all platforms, which would ultimately hold it back from what it could be. I'm sure I (and many others) will have countless more hours to invest in their PS3's and 360's.
As if our hands weren't tired from gaming only...
Welcome to the age of PS4-nicate
Looking forward to seeing what Epic is going to announce, hopefully not a Gears of War for PS, but a new IP altogether.
I will have to take your word, as I have given up on Xbox after I got 4 red rings, so the limited time I've played on 360 the past few years have been on friends/family consoles. But, you seem like you have a good idea of it, but my original thing was that Microsoft is stating that they're getting paid "for doing essentially nothing", so what I was asking was what are they doing as far as justifying a monthly/yearly subscription, you get what I mean?
I meant to say PSN catching up in terms of online gaming. Not as laggy, easier interface, smoother system, etc. I'm not an expert in the matter, and I have not looked at the infrastructure, I'm just wondering what the extra cost is?
From what I see and read, the PC community has terrific online gaming, and no monthly fees (other than subscription based games). Again, maybe I'm missing something?
What I took from this entire article was
"Microsoft should be able to attract 40-50 million Xbox LIVE subscribers paying around $40-50 a year. That’s about $1.6-2.5 billion for doing essentially nothing."
Which makes me question, what is it that we pay for extra with Xbox Live (or any other online pay to play, such as PS+)? Everyone seems to agree that the Live was leaps and bounds ahead of PSN (though the argument is pretty solid that PSN did a lo...
It reminds me of a Roman God of War, and honestly, who WOULDN'T want that?! lol
I'm not getting an Xbone, but I'm not gonna lie, this game is making that decision a bit tougher.
I know it's gonna be crazy when I'm looking forward to the launch event ALMOST as much as the PS4 itself! Looking forward to many great and exciting announcements!
Does anyone know if this is confirmed for the PS3, as all other articles I've read seem to indicate PC and 360 only.
And with this statement, Naughty Dog already nominated for Game of the Year award!
Lol
It would be a shame to see Nintendo go the way of Sega, but looking at the flip side, that could also mean that if (big IF) they do drop out of the console business due to bad sales, they might bring their software to different systems. I can only imagine Zelda on PS4/XBOX1......niiiice!
I'm not going by any articles, I'm just going by personal experience. Since the original Playstation, up to the PS3, Sony has delivered many console exclusives that were fantastic, and varied. In my opinion, there has not been one generation where they have not come in with the best, and highly regarded exclusives.
The only fail I can see happening, would be for Microsoft/Sony, not selling as many they wish/hoped/projected for. Other than that, I can't see either system failing.
I find indies amusing because we spend all this money to buy these brand new machines...just to play 2D side scrollers, 8bit RPG's, and other games that looked capable on SNES/Genesis. Not knocking indies, as I've enjoyed a few, but I find it funny.
But what would I know...?
I wanna be an "analyst" too! Just say random things, and make money. Let's try:
Cartridges will soon take over again in the gaming industry, when Sega introduces their new system follow up to the Saturn, codenamed "Pluto"
Man, I'll tell ya, I went through FOUR 360's before I just gave up. Best buy replaced one, and Microsoft replaced 2. When the fourth one died, I gave up on Xbox.
