The author feels that heavy rain should be comparing itself to other games rather than movies but he forgets that other games often compare themselves to the reality of their genre. Madden compares itself to actual football. Most shooters compare themselves to actual war or gunplay. The author needs to accept that cinematic games are a genre. They Should be promoted as such. I don't know how you'd compare Heavy Rain to any other game anyway, without considering its cinematic style.
i've tasted moose urine, and honestly it tastes closer to dr. pepper, with a slight cherry bouquet and a soft finish. it also kinda tastes like pee.

on topic, i'm glad to see sony advertising with such vigor. UC2 deserved a bigger campaign, more akin to what we're seeing now.
i'm sure the only reason he's surprised people disagree with him is because he never said any of the things people are accusing him of. the author of this article never stated the game was full of qte's. this article is a direct rebuttal to that one word review. i know because i read it. he actually agrees with all the people that are disagreeing with him.
just because he's famous shouldn't make his opinion more valid than any other gamer.
I get what you're saying. But I re-read the article a few times and the author never actually uses the word realistic. He does say:

To say no one has knowledge of how actual crashes take place is foolish. plenty of people have been in or seen car accidents first hand. shadow has and yet you dispute his first hand knowledge, which is also foolish. Also, there are these things called televisions, and websites called youtube that depict real life crashes. really, I'm not lying. here let me help you.

If you've seen anything he's done, particularly Firefly/Serenity, you know he is essentially Nathan Drake. I've even started watching that Castle show just because of him. If they go with anybody but him in this role I think its a clear sign that this will be another Hollywood cash-in crapfest.

you've never worked retail, have you? lucky you. Every retail place and restaurant I've worked keeps track of every item sold. At the end of the day when the registers are closed those figures get sent to a corporate office. I don't imagine it would be too difficult for sony to obtain those numbers. I'm pretty sure it would be a 2 minute phone call.
I know! when i first saw screens from uncharted two i initially thought they looked rather similar. it had been a while since i played uncharted: drakes fortune, and i thought "the original already looked so good, how much could they improve?" then i saw a side by side comparison and was blown away. i couldn't believe how wrong i was.
i'm not seeing the point you're trying to make. I make no claims of being a journalist, just a gamer. If i come across something interesting regarding a game i'm excited about, i'm going to share it. i posted this as an article, not as news, so what does it matter that its from a blog?

lol well aren't you guys lucky. I've been bombarded with them. I suppose I should have titled it or written it differently to serve as more of a warning to those who haven't receive them. Thanks for the feedback though. I guess its time for me to start "re-adjusting" my friends list.
I feel the same way about R&C. I've been with the series for so long, and i'm eager to see how insomniac ties up the story. I have a feeling this might be the last R&C, at least for quite some time.

it took the ps2 68 months to reach 100 million. that averages out to about 1.5 million a month, so i think now that the ps3's price has dropped its entirely possible for sony to reach its goal by march 2010.
don't know if they will because they would have to sell about 1.5 million a month to reach it, but either way the ps3 will do very well.
we'll have a better idea how close they can get to their goal, or whether they'll surpass it in the next couple months.

i read gabes comments. he justs seems to disagree that it will fail. doesn't seem angry at all. just adamant. and despite the author's opening comments he does proceed to make a case for the game failing under the circumstances he outlined.
@1.2 you took the words out of my mouth. i'm not sure what this guy was talking about.
and i got a lot more than seven hours with this game hunting down all the treasures and unlocking everything(and then doing it all again for trophies). i don't mind a shorter game if its an excellent experience from start to finish. uncharted 2 is shaping up to be just that.
and there is no way r&c:f was longer than the original uncharted.
i really liked heavenly sword but i kind of agree with you. i think you're right in saying serkis' performance (among others) was meant to be campy, or over the top. i liked anna torv as nariko though, and actually feel she should be on this list. and hamill should be no.1
i just mentioned this when commenting somewhere else. i hadn't considered the placement of the sony ad and i suppose it was "pivotal" as the article says. that said i still would like to see sony pushing the slim and its upcoming games more than this. they need to start advertising heavy so everyone and there grandmother is aware of the ps3's value and the great lineup of games it has.
