Correct - GG gave Koji Pro the DECIMA source code, KP has tinkered and improved certain parts of the engine. Most of the credit goes to GG of course, they are technical wizards - but even they've been blown away with Koji Pro has achieved.
Capcom has gone on record saying that RE Engine is scaleable to next gen - that's how much how much potential it has. And yes the games do look great, I was trying to point out Japanese PS4 (FF & MGSV - I know) exclusives.
Krib - What would you consider a successful launch for a new ip? Whatever number you come up with - I'd say not far from that. It topped a few charts around the world and held that spot for a few weeks in some cases.
Final Fantasy look rubbish does it? Gravity Rush 2? BLOODBORNE? MGSV was no slouch either. And of course the graphics powerhouse - Death Stranding.
Not even in the same ballpark mate - Sony is miles ahead of ms. Just look at each companies output this gen. Getting the odd employee here and from other studios, while that's a good thing - it doenst guarantee anything.
The in-house engines Sony has at their disposal is unmatched and will continue to be.

Personally, there's nothing better than watching a movie and not knowing anything about it. That would happen back in the PS1 days, buy a game on a whim and BANG it's a classic. That's how I played Castvania : SOTN - how lucky was I?
