Not for another 4yrs. Sony was smart to release HZD to PC, now PC gamers will either have to wait (and maybe miss out), or buy a PS5.
Sony know the pressure they're under to deliver - I'm sure they will.
They just have to show a single PS5 1st party launch title and they're already further along than the competition.
Fair to say they'll be showing more than one 1st party PS5 exclusive. Gonna be EPIC!

Spurg & Darth - You have to separate 3rd from 1st party. Don't twist the narrative to the point it becomes fact to you.
1st party cross-gen = bad.
3rd party cross-gen = ok.
Going off the gameplay event - I'm hyped, ms has listened, ms is still learning, ms is pro-consumer, ms will have a 1st party exclusive every 3 months, ms has coined new a marketing term - smart delivery, ms has designed a console with proprietary expansion cards - rejoice, rejoice, rejoice.
On a serious note - I do wish ms can turn the corner and deliver consistently good games for its customers. I just think they've failed miserably in that regard since their ent...

Sony didnt want to help ms - and rightly so. The 360 gen really gave ms wind in their sails, the one gen turned that into a slight breeze.

Halo is cross-gen - it will just look prettier on xsx. They should've made it an xsx exclusive, big mistake on their part.
I think Sony will launch with 3 or 4 launch window exclusives - that'll be enough.
I don't think they will announce anything that isn't in the launch window, Shuhei said as much a few years back - Sony has been guilty of showing games too early.
Like AC: Black Flag before was for PS4, I see AC: Valhalla being the open world title for the PS5 launch. Whatever GG show it will be a technical masterpiece - DECIMA would've evolved dramatically since HZD & DS.
I wouldn't be disappointed if HZD2 is there - but I think it will be better shown at a later announcement (September - maybe?).
I'd love GG to do KZ and it go head-to-head against Halo infinite. If KZ turned out to be a great game - could be the killer blow on day 1.
Never heard of this 2nd console curse - 3rd console curse, yes. But 2nd no.
PS2 released at the perfect time, being able to produce decent 3D graphics and playing DVD's meant it was definitely something most gamers wanted.
And then there's the library of games - pretty much 2nd to none. Then came the ridiculously low price PS2 slim and you have cultural icon.

I'm even surprised you're saying your buying either next gen console at launch - I have a feeling you were against early adoption of new consoles (ie PS4 & xbo one).

What would he gain by promoting PS5? U5 is middleware available on all platforms (it had to be re-written to accommodate the PS5 - but that's a story for another day).

Synthetic - HZD had some beautiful moments, and my favourite capture was a Snapmaw stalking Alloy. Its ridiculously gorgeous.
All set - time to see REAL next gen gameplay. Waited 7 yrs for this moment - get hyped boys and girls these events don't come around often.
