The original Nier was a mediocre action rpg, that's all I got from playing that. It had an unique feel to it though, but it didn't get me sucked in enough to try it's successor. Artwork looks fun though.

Getting your arse kicked by higher ranks in action oriented games basically says "I've trained my muscle memory way more bro". Now if you get your arse kicked in strategy games, it's an insult to your logic, which should be way worse of an insult. It doesn't work that way for me though, I get more frustrated in reflex/action games.
