Just bought a PS4 along with DmC:DE, Uncharted 4, and Doom. So this is a very welcome addition. Can't wait to play this soon.
Yeah, not getting a good feeling about this.
I remembered people defended the crap out of the microtransactions for MGSV. Wonder where are they now? Also no, Overwatch didn't handle microtransactions well.
Nope, that belongs to Doom. Battlefield 1's SP while an improvement of the last 3 BF games isn't that great.
This is a comment from the gearsofwar.com site:
People who play horde and don't want to use real cash are going to potentially have to play for years to level up all their classes, as they can't create skills they haven't already got in packs, and they need to spend 19-character's worth of scrap to fully level up an epic, plus be lucky enough to get the first epic from the pack in the first place.
While they are grinding away...
So we still have to pay FOR DLC maps.
WE ALREADY PAID FOR IT. It's called buying the base game. They can get more of their money back by how many copies are sold. Considering GEARS OF WAR is a multi-millionaire franchise, and 4's good marketing, it would've sold millions and they would've offered free DLC without MTs. Sadly though, it might not happen BECAUSE of the MTs, fans are already boycotting it.

"I will gladly take micro transaction that I don't have to pay for to get the entire season pass for free which is 24 new maps spread out over a year 2 per month."
Or how about this. Don't have neither of these in the game. Have them earn in-game ONLY by beating the game, a challenge, finding them in secret areas, doing a difficulty gameplay task, or have them earned with game money the same way, style, and progression as Bayonetta. Simple right? **** Seas...
Well, we kept warning you guys this was going to happen. How dare us that we care more about consumer satisfaction and not having their money milked away for bad practices and less on people becoming what publishers call whales to saturate an already unhealthy industry to the point that it's now effecting OUR games that don't need them (HELLO THERE DEUS EX). Never believe the bull**** publishers say that we don't have to spend money. Not person implies an cashwall and then say you...
Too realistic? Where is the huge blood and gore? This should've been the Saving Private Ryan of WW1 games.
Funny how with anyone defending these by saying "play the game." The problem is that they themselves never explain truthfully HOW the cosmetics are earned. It's like they actually admit that the microtransactions DO effect the game. There has not been one premium game designed with Microtransactions that neither gives any player benefit, nor started controversy.
NO. I loved Sleeping Dogs. Much better than WATCH Dogs.
If they are ONLY cosmetic, then why are they so difficult to achieve? We can't they be earn normally with a good progression like Bayonetta? It DOES harm the game because the game is fighting our patience, not skill. For all the talk about costumes being useless (which is an insult to the game designers), publishers sure are making their way to have us go through a absolutely dull and slow process just to earn them through "Playing the game."
COD doesn't count as the series has become the Twilight of the gaming industry.
"You do realize the MTs are cosmetic only AND can be earned by .... PLAYING THE GAME."
This bull**** is really getting old. All I keep hearing from those defending MTs is just "Play the game," I've never once heard things like "beat the game," "beat this challenge," "Find this secret area" or "Do a difficult skillf...
And like it or not. It's still gate keeping content away from the consumers. If it did the Bayonetta 2 approach, it would've had less backlash. The fact that people have to not only get the limited edition to play the MWR, have to waste 130gb in total just to play MWR, but that you have to keep the IW disc just play MWR. From the impression I got so far from the IW beta, it doesn't seem worth it and some people are already not thinking about purchasing it. Had MWR sold separately,...
"dlc, microtransactions does not cripple any game to the point of making it unplayable" Prototype 2 says hi, considering after the beating the game, there wasn't anything to do nor unlock then just going around and destroying crap. The only way to unlock the extra content that was once free and part of a disc in the first game (which included challenges) is to pay for it. Content that not only was advertised far before the game was out, but content that if it was free could'...
Considering how the microtransactions got out of hand today. Nope, nowhere near. It can't even beat Doom.
So...It's just a gun that kills with three shoots. I...don't see what the point of this is.
If those are necessary to enjoy the game more. They should be IN the game with no crappy progression system and no paywall. weapon/character skins are not worth throwing money away for ever in a premium retail game that's already been out. I once did the same thing for Prototype 2, while the content made the game better, I felt like an idiot for throwing money at it when it should be the thing to have the game get better ratings and more replay value had it been unlockables after beating ...
Actually, I never ignored it. That's part of the reason why I'm buying the game used no matter how much I love the game.
Well, they better find a way to bring games like Bayonetta 2, Wonderful 101, and Xenoblade Chronicles into the switch. Since Nintendo officially gave up on the WiiU, and not bring those games into the new system is no purchase for me. I'm not going to buy a nearly dying system just to play these games again. If so, the WiiU will have to be $100 total.
