True. Bugthesda releases great games but not even an insecticide company can get rid of the many bugs that plague its games early at launch. And its quite an annoyance to wait for patches too.
Shigeru said "a bad game is bad forever" that explains why some delays must be made as long as the game-breaking bugs never make it to retail copies of the game, as much as humanly possible.
Of course, you've gotta remember that if the "other brands" do it with just upscaling and without adding zilch, its fine. Only Nintendo isn't allowed to do it and let alone add a few nifty things too.
the "gamer" double standard.
@Tom and @darth;
I'm all for a Metroid Prime Trilogy HD, Hell I don't mind if it just upscaled. Bought the first 3 Primes on GC, Trilogy on Wii and would buy this in a heartbeat too. Wouldn't mind a Metroid Zero Mission thrown in either.
Now that you mention that, it's in very rare occasions that a Nintendo brand game needs to be patched, save from Other M which had one hell of a game-breaking bug back then tho it was quickly fixed.
Wow, it's about time!
I really hope he does get his wish. I'm pumped wondering how a P*-made Starfox's gameplay gonna be. Not that EAD ain't capable tho. Or better yet a collaboration between the two.
Free to play? did you forget the PSN subscription fee? it's $60 more :)
ohh nice!! it looks promising. I wonder which systems it is gonna be released in. But in any case, can't wait to see more of it.
@miyamoto
tsk tsk. sullying the game of that great man, lol.
Even though they were outsourced at first(altho for a little bit of time), Retro became a FIRST party in May 2, 2002. 6 months before Metroid Prime was published. ALL of the other Prime games were "in-house" since Retro was part of the company by then (save for Hunters, which was done by Nintendo Software Technologies (NST))
So no, miyamo-chi, only the first deVelopment (yes with that "v"...
yeah, the Metroid deVelopment was outsourced to an studio WHOLLY owned by them, Retro Studios.
Actually, Megaman Legends came out on Nintendo 64 too.
So it's not only the PSX platform.
But did not do well enough according to Sega and canned the sequel (and the rest is history). Even though quantity sold was respectable.
Kamiya replies:
"Dear mr. joseph, sit confortably. Its gonna be a VERY LONG wait, if ever. If you cannot wait buy a wii-u and play it, if not, *insert any famous Kamiya quote here*"
@Concertoine
I think you mean Geist. As you say, sadly, It didn't sell well but it was a very good game.
Not sure if it was N-Space who made it back then.
F Zero- I beg to differ. The last one was WAY too awesome, even by today's standards. Frankly, I haven't played a better and more fulfilling futuristic racing game than this one yet.
Resident Evil- Well, this series is getting tons of flak on one side and praise from others(Re6 mostly). And if Revelations is any indication, there is still life on this franchise.
FF series- I dunno what to say about this one, I LOVED XII but HATED XIII and XIII-2 with ...
1. Well they have a great relationship, and it is a great opportunity for BOTH of them, honestly
2. Too early to tell, its been only 2 days for TW101 and only 30000 copies have been shipped. We will know more next week and in the coming months when it arrives here. As for Bayonetta 2, it has the making of a system-seller ,as was the first one (which was overshadowed by the billions of FPS games out there), we will see when it arrives.
3. Hell yes, I played, liked and LOVED Bay...
No. I see it as:
"Platinum Games interested in being (even more) legendary"
Nintendo makes great games, Platinum makes great games. What can go wrong if they join forces? As mii-gamer said, Nintendo would shield them from financial risk, if the game doesn't sell, Nintendo takes the hit, NOT Platinum. And there is NO WAY the studio would be closed down, like Capcom did to Clover or that other brand closing studios left and right...
Haven't played yet okamiden myself but i hear it's every bit as good as Okami was.
Who knows it may get a spiritual sequel(funded by someone with a big N on its name lol), since a direct sequel is up to Capcom but i'm not betting on it made anytime soon, if at all. Or a brand new game with further expanded mechanics.
Which is only topped by the Original Deus Ex OST, IMO. I still hear it these days, and sometimes still play the game to hear the music too. It's that good.
EDIT: an option to add past Deus EX games music as optional BGM for the game isn't a bad idea, BTW.
@Roccetarius
It wasn't only wasting the money on Aliens, more like "indirectly funding" Borderlands 2.
