I'm sure the gameplay will be great but I just don't like the fact that is so over-the-top is almost like watching Vanquish and the story-telling looks like it will be as corny and cheesy as Bayonetta. I would have liked if the game was kept more grounded to reality like a Metal Gear game is supposed to be rather than going more for the anime-ish/weeaboo presentation.

well, they did try really hard. They published Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey they paid tons of money for time exclusivity for Star Ocean IV, Tales of Vesperia and even bribed Square for FF13 so nobody can't say that they didn't try. But the games simply didn't sell well because the main market for these kind of games is Japan and they reject the Xbox brand while the Americans love the Xbox and its shooters like COD.
They probably will go the same route as Nintendo. They will create their own format based on Blu-ray but with no playback of movies to not pay royalties.

DmC is all new. And the original plans for Metal Gear Rising were that PG was going to do the gameplay and KojiPro the story but then things went a little wrong when the director (from PG) changed the time-line and the story too.

I don't like the more serious story nor the new direction or casualized battles system of the new game. "entitled" is the new "overrated". Now people just uses it without really understanding its meaning just like "hater". You have a negative opinion about something these days and you're seen as nothing more and an "entitled hater".
because DMC is a series we love and to see it butchered like this only pisses us off. We dislike DmC but not the series prior it. It's not like the game's a new IP or series we didn't care before the reboot about you know.

since when this game was announced 2 years ago it has always been praised by the media from left to right so it was a no brainer that it was going to score well across the board anyway. The complains aren't about the quality itself but about all the stuff NT changed that made a DMC game be a DMC game.
It doesn't matter if the game is good or not this reboot ain't DMC. I don't buy or play games just because of the score they get you know... If they kill a franc...
