You know, its very interesting to see others impressions. I was actually pretty disappointed with the demo (when I thought I would love it). Of course I just thought it was me with the lag but apparently not. Obviously this was just a demo but because of this I'm probably going to rent, then decide if I want to buy. I really want to like Crysis but at this point I'm kinda underwhelmed.
And also, it was really annoying that there was no tutorial or even explanation of ...
Maybe the $60 subsription fee for XBL is the reason for better multiplatform (CoD) games? Not saying it's right, just saying it's a possibility. Like the author said, MS has more incentive to force patches and fixes because it has to keep people paying for it's service.
The authors arguments are very valid and I see where he is coming from.
But one thing I don't understand is why Black Ops is getting so much hate/threats because it sucks. I and thousands of other people bought Chrome Hounds when it came out. It had some glitches and I didn't really like it. But I cant go sue the company because it had some glitches and didn't like their game. Thats not how it works. If you don't like the game, you chalk it up as a learning e...
Thats actually pretty awesome...
Edit: And woah that ending is sweet!
Yeah I was actually surprised MS didn't announce a controller to work in conjunction with Kinect. But personally this is why I feel Kinect may be able to do more than Move. It can support controllers or it can work on its own. Move (at least right now) seems to only support controllers, thus limiting its functionality in comparison to Kinect. Whether MS will take advantage of this... I don't know.
I'd expect this from MS but not from Sony. Maybe the two aren't as different as we thought... Hmmmmm...
Yeah Im happy that the indie devs are doing well but disappointed we dont get such a great game on the iphone. I would have loved to play it...
As a bit of a dork for all things Disney, I'm glad to see this game doing well. It deserves it.
In case people didnt read the review, it didnt get a B+. I actually really like this kind of review. It isnt a one-size-fits-all review. I'd like to see more of these.
Edit: And 49erguy- You ARE a fanboy. Apparently you just started going crazy before actually READING the review. Obviously you fall into the A+ range. No need to go beserk over the people who fall into the B and C- range. Chill out, as a favor to the N4G community.
Awww Sleepy3 has restored my faith in the gamers of n4g. Good to see someone gets it.
I may be in the minority but I actually really liked the dark look of the first Gears. Now the games have sunlight and color to the point I feel it has lost that stylistic look that garnered it so much attention. I understand why the change was made but honestly I'll miss that utterly hopeless setting the first Gears nailed.
So if 4.1 million is the number shipped- how many have been sold? Seems like this discussion needs some closure.
Glad to see this getting good reviews. I had high hopes for this game and I always love to see a unique game succeed.
Wow. Its great that will millions of people playing everyday we get to see 1 in a million shots like that all the time. Lucky but cool!
Really who would believe the manaquins come to life? That would require at least 10+ AI characters programed into the map. It is a small map but all those AIs plus 16 people running around would difficult to process. Plus any secret like that could always turn gamebreaking if you people learned to abuse it (and people always abuse them.) Not a big easter egg but then again, Treyarch never said it was. I guess thats what hype does.
But every single one is luck. Get 5+ million people shooting knives at each other for 2 hours a day and you are bound to get a few ridiculously lucky kills.
The game didnt work on consoles either but to make the fanboys happy he gave it an 11/10. From the comments here I couldnt tell if people actually saw that so I felt like I had to state the obvious.
At least he has a sense of humor.
the map is so colorful is because of the setting. Its in a fake town kind of like the one in Indiana Jones before the nuke goes off. Didnt you see the manaquins? That would explain the very generic fifties look and random set pieces.
they just arent selling this game in Army bases! Think for a sec! They don't want Americans on ACTIVE DUTY playing a game that depicts them getting shot. It is after all the same war they are currently fighting in. Obviously, its not good for morale. I dont think they have any problem with the fact that its showing Americans in a war, just that an American soldier playing this game and dying a hundred times is not going to make him want to go out to face the real thing the next day. War i...
Wow a positive review by The Escapist. Those are more rare than diamonds.
