LOL I dont think that suggesting that a studio who hasnt been commercially viable in 7 years is at risk of closure is being overly dramatic. But hey, whatever.

The fact is MM hasnt had a commercially successful release since LBP2 which game out in 2011. Tearaway did not sell well on Vita or on PS4. And Sumo Digital made LBP3 (which also didnt sell well).

Sony does give their developers a LOT of rope to hang themselves with but make no mistake, Sony is looking for a return on their investment and if their studios cant deliver, Sony wont hesitate to kick the chair out from under them.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but this game (if you want to call it that) is going to bomb hard. It's going to appeal to a very narrow audience and there is absolutely no way MM will recoup the dev costs. I wouldnt be surprised if MM is the next studio Sony closes. I'm all for creativity but I feel that MM is too "artsy fartsy" for their own good.

Nobody is forcing you to do anything. Whether or not you buy multiple consoles is YOUR choice. No one is holding a gun to your head. Gaming is a luxury, not a necessity.

Exclusives matter because they typically are the best games for any given platform. They are coded closest to the "metal" of a console, taking the most advantage of the hardware. Plus in Sony's case, they have some of THE most talented dev teams on the mar...

Bought it back at launch (paid full price), beat it multiple times, and traded it back in. I just find it funny that Sony has put this launch game on sale for so low on multiple occasions but refuses to make it a Plus freebie. Same with The Order 1886.

Lol Killzone SF at 4.99. Come on Sony. Put it out as the PS Plus freebie already!

Of course they matter. Only ones saying otherwise are those who have none to play.

I really do hope its a new Killzone.

How does that dumbass say that crap with a straight face? I swear he is the textbook example of a corporate puppet. Can someone please duct tape his mouth? I'm tired of hearing him spew this nonsense.

Yeah but that other 10% is pretty damn significant.

I want a Killzone reboot with an amazing 10-15 hour single player story with cutting edge visuals, great story and dialogue, and great character development. I also want a robust multiplayer mode with tons of maps and modes, similar to Killzone 2 gameplay wise. Oh, and I want it at 60fps!

2713d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

It MUST be 60fps this time! I cannot tolerate another 30fps first person shooter!

Because theres not going to be a such thing as moderate success for this title. It's been in development for way too long. It's going to either have to sell phenomenally well or Sony will never recoup the cost of development. Plus keep in mind that MM has not had a successful game in 7 years when LBP 2 released. The studio I believe is very much in danger of being shuttered if Dreams isnt a huge hit.

This is either the next Minecraft, or its going to flop hard, sending Media Molecule out of commission. I have a bad feeling it's the latter.

@lollord

I think Sony does. You dont go from a generation where you had a userbase of 150 million to one of 83 million and not view that as a disappointment. They lost nearly 50% of their marketshare.

The biggest challange with programming the PS3 wasn't the CELL processor. It just happened to be one of the first multicore/multithread cpus on the market (something thats common with all cpus now). It was that it had two 256mb segregated pools of memory, each running at different speeds and both specifically designed for certan tasks that programmers couldn't deviate from. The 360 had 512mb of unified memory that programmers could allocate any way they wanted. Plus it had a sepera...

@BehindTheRows

LOL so basically what you're saying is there's nothing MS can do to satisfy you. Like I said, creating great AAA IP's takes time. You don't magically pull them out of your ass. MS just released the highly acclaimed Forza Horizon 4, Ori and the Will of the Wisps was announced and looks gorgeous. Halo Infinite was announced. A new Gears of War was announced. 4 new studios were acquired to make new games. I mean, like I said, I'm not an ...

You know he's talking about consoles. PC being more powerful is a given, and it SHOULD be more powerful considering the higher cost.

"And Xbox needs to be cheaper than PS5 on day one"

I don't think that will happen. I actually think MS is more interested in being the more powerful console than being the cheaper one. In fact, I'm paraphrasing here but I believe during MS' last E3 conference Phil Spencer said something to the effect of "MS will work to make sure the Xbox platform is always the most powerful place to play games." Power does not come cheap. You can have t...
