So long as it serves the story well, I'm fine with it.

Damn right it is! I've heard others say it is the "Citizen Kane" of video games. I'm inclined to agree!

I think there is a difference between fun and enjoyment. I take enjoyment from a LOT of things that dont necessarily provide me fun. A good book. A good movie. A good song/album. A good meal. A good conversation. All of these things provide me enjoyment but I wouldn't categorize them as fun.

I garnered enjoyment from RDR2 because of the settings, the characters, the music, the story, etc. However I didnt have a lot of "fun" playing it because of the me...

PS5 will do fine
Xbox 2 will do fine
Switch will do fine

I've said it a million times, 90% of a company's success or failure has absolutely nothing to do with their competition. Competition actually BREEDS success. If companies fail its always because of internal reasons. Lack of vision, lack of leadership, lack of flexibility and adaptation, hubris, etc. THOSE are the things that cause companies to fail. It has very little to do with what the...

Better mechanics. They're passable but underwhelming. Rockstar has really advanced the graphical presentation and story telling of their games. But the mechanics are still 2 generations old. I dont think it's right to ignore mechanics as a very important part of game development. That's why RDR2 is not GOTY worthy IMO.

You're actually better off. Trade skill jobs pay a LOT of money these days and you get the added benefit of not being saddled with the ridiculous tuition loan debt. I have a good friend who's an experienced electrician that works for Volkswagon. Dude makes SIX figures! He never went to college a day in his life!

Absolutely ridiculous to charge 60.00 for this though. This is an 8 year old game.

Well with a name like "Nintentional" I would expect your opinion to be nothing less.

Clearly you dont know what a walking simulator is.

Agreed. Plus for me, The Witcher 3 was just too damn big! Usually playing a video game is an exercise in reduction. What I mean by that is, the more you accomplish in a game and put in your rearview mirror, the less of it you have in front of you to finish. The Witcher felt the complete opposite. It felt like the game got BIGGER, the more you completed. It was overwhelming.

Agreed 100%.

Same. Maybe it's because I had just finished Herizon Zero Dawn but, by comparison Zelda BOTW's world felt empty, the story was weak and uninteresting to me, and the breakable weapons were beyond frustrating (why in hell would your bow break after using it?). Its not a bad game, but it's not the monumental 10/10 that so many sites gave it. In truth, it's a solid 8. Yes, there are a lot of firsts here for a zelda game, but certainly nothing ground-breaking that several other...

Will never understand why Fast RMX continues to get snubbed on these lists. The game IS a modern F-Zero in every way but name and its absolutely a brilliant game to play! It's also beautiful to look at and runs at a smooth 60fps. Only knock against it is it doent have online play but it does have up to 4 player split screen, which is fun as well.

2 other games that deserve mention are Diablo 3 and Celeste.

The compact size for one. Japan is a crowded country where space is a precious commodity. Also the mobile aspect of Switch is huge. A lot of the Japanese commute long distances to and from work, offering plenty of time to game in that time span.

@ABizzel

Yes, I realize you can pair external controllers to your phone via blue tooth. However for ME, if I have to carry around separate accessories just to play a mobile game properly, that absolutely negates the convenience of mobile gaming in the first place.

No way MP4 comes this year. If Metroid Prime 4 launches this year, I seriously question just how good or ambitious it will be. The game was announced just 2 years ago and all Nintendo had to show was a logo. Unless they are slow-playing us and the game has been in development longer than we think (which is possible I guess), I just don't see it launching this year. 2020 at the earliest is when we'll see it I think.

PS4 will not surpass the PS2 in total sales but I do believe it will become the 2nd highest selling console of all time. Think about this. When it's all said and done, Sony will own the #1, #2, #3, & #5 (or 6, depending on what site you go to) highest selling home consoles of all time, not counting handhelds (and even the PSP is in the top 10). THAT is dominance!
