Bingo!
Like I said before, both have trade offs. Both look fantastic. I'm just encouraged that given the PC screens are running on a rig at max settings, the 399.99 PS4 is able to go toe to toe with it this well! It truly is a testament to the engineering of the PS4!
It's not that complicated really. If you're a console gamer, have a next gen system, and haven't already played this game then the Definitive Edition is the one to get! Plus I can justify the 60.00 price point to run it at this graphical fidelity a hell of a lot more than I can justify what I'd have to spend on upgrading my PC to be able to run it at max settings.
Given that the PC screenshots are supposedly from a PC with the hardware capability of running it on max settings, compared to a 400.00 console. I think what we should take away from this is just how damn close the PS4 gets to the maxed out PC version. To me that alone is a phenomenal testament to the engineering of the PS4!

Plus remember no matter how much sprucing up the developers did to this game, it's still a last gen game! This wasn't designed from the ground up to BE a next gen title. If it had, I believe we'd have seen even better results and I'm sure we will on the sequel.
Both have strengths and weaknesses. The Definitive edition has better color/contrast and lighting effects. Textures look slightly more detailed to my eyes on the PC version and I prefer the original look of Laura. Anyone who says that one definitively looks better than the other is just being biased.
Dude, I'm glad you are happy with the PC version but don't be a douche! If you're a console gamer, this will be the best version of the game to play. Why do you have come on here and be an a-hole? PC gamers just stick with what YOU like and quit worrying about what console gamers play.
I actually like the new Laura re-design better but I agree. That's not a very flattering screen comparison.
Has Bungie said how they plan to finance this game? Will it be subscription based or will it be funded through microtransactions? This is what I'm waiting to hear as it will be the deciding factor for me as to whether I buy it or not.
Because MS was hell bent on putting that damn camera in every single box.
More gravy please!! Everything tastes better with gravy!
Yet again another overhyped Xbox feature. Anyone who owns a fairly modern flat screen can already do this with the motion interpolation (motion smoothing) feature.
Agreed. Because I can already do this with the motion interpolation feature on my TV.
Because in spite of MS' deep pockets and endless resources the Xbone is an inferiorly designed machine compared to the cheaper, more powerful PS4. Because we all know that just like in the previous generation, it's going to have the weaker lineup of exclusive content and continue to heavily lean on 3rd party multi console titles to carry it. Because other than taking Xbox Live mainstream, MS has contributed NOTHING to the gaming industry!
Freddie Mercury: "Guaranteed to blow your mind, anytime!!"
Too much emphasis from the PC crowd on tech. Much more important than tech is game design. This is a giant expansive open world here! I'm not one bit surprised that these developers think they are already maxing out the systems. Yet I guarantee you when The Witcher 4 comes out, they will find yet even more ways to squeeze more performance out of them! Also, PC gamers just gloss over the fact that they are also telling the PC crowd "time to upgrade." So it's not just co...
Exactly! These devs need to preface statements like this with "Based on what we know about the architecture at the moment, we are close to maxing out it's potential."
PS4 Flawless Victory!! \m/ \m/
Something that PC gamers are saying that is cracking me up is on the one hand, they claim the PC version is better and is "still the definitive version." On the OTHER hand they are saying "well this isn't a fair comparison because the Definitive Edition isn't on PC. So which is it PC gamers? You can't have it both ways. Either you're standing by the version you already have or your conceding that there are things the Definitive Edition does that's better...
